For Echoes, I also think Mangs should allow retreating. Retreating isn't the same as resetting. Retreating prevents death from happening and reset corrects a death that has already happened.

Yeah that restart was totally legit. I mean I see why not to use it, you really could save yourself indefinitely I think and shouldn't be abused in ironman, but chat is crazy.

It's a game mechanic, but I guess logically speaking, Python could not have gotten out there alive if a retreat was ordered. I mean he got Python caught across a river with no method of retreat Maybe if the retreat button gave the AI one free turn, that would be less of an issue. Still, the retreat button exist so the player can use it to save their characters

No idea why he chose to retreat Python through the right side instead of going back through the bridge immediately outside the archers' range

She makes one of the best Clerics in the game my dude. Her getting Renew which functions like a Bard/Dancer and is exclusive to her. Very valuable.

@@jesfest I would argue it's not a reset cause if you lost a unit before retresting, You don't get them back. That said, i still believe it breaks iron man rules

It's too abusable for an Ironman. What's to stop him doing that every time someone's about to die?

@@Superluigi881 the main difference is that he cannot undo someone who already died during enemy phase or by random crits by retreating, units whos motivation is lowered by the fight wont be reset back to the way they were before the fight, and any healing items he used up will still be gone. A turnwheel or a reset would negate ANY negatives he might have suffered from poor planning, not to mention that retreating only works if you notice you fucked up in time to react to it and cant even be used on a lot of late-game and story important maps; if youre playing quickly or not paying attention you wont always know retreating is an option. I'd say retreating is different enough from a reset that it shouldnt count against an ironman run's integrity.

If you retreat, it saves the enemies you killed. So you can kill one guy, retreat, and repeat.

@@gamingstudios-cf2qf doesn’t necessarily mean it has to be allowed to that extent.

the reason some of the death quotes in classic are casual mode quotes is cuz he hasn't made it to at least act 3-5 with those chars alive. so for chars like Gray, Boey and Clair, their death quotes only update if they've made it to act 3-5 alive, as in the early game of acts 1-2 they're important to the story cutscenes, so their death quotes are casual mode ones

By god no, Mangs sucks enough, giving him a crutch only makes us suffer longer.

I personally wouldn’t make Kliff go permanent Mercenary tree. Doing the Dread fighter loop at least once is a fine idea though for some nice base stats. He’s too awesome of a Mage/Sage with his spell list being the overall best out of any male character.

About retreating, it doesn't reset the map, units killed remain dead on both sides, and the enemy formation is rearranged to fill the blanks.
