​@@SethJV maybe not, he recognizes nemesis and if you get him before getting the three houses bracelet he basically tells them to behave. Nemesis being Claude's final boss with byleth ending with green hair Byleth ends with blue hair only in Edelgards ending Knowing that someone might cause a problem means he understands Dimitri's pain. So very possible Byleth has seen it all and maybe gameplay wise it's restricted but perhaps Byleth was endlessly reverting time to find an ending where all his students may live.
