Everyone is sadge about Lumera being corrupted but imo it made her a better character. At least she acknowledged the lack of characterization she had before (i.e. basically just being Alear's mother figure) and twisted it into a better archetype for herself (evil and actively-a-person mom instead of just "I love you so much my child etc."). Generally I hate the way mothers are treated in fiction as only living for their children instead of being actual people, and to be fair some mothers are like that, but that's just one character trait, and that one trait was Lumera's only trait before she got corrupted. Sure, she still just wants to be Alear's mother while corrupted, but there's soooo much more depth to it when she turns evil. Now she's willing to kill people to get her way, and we even see her being vengeful towards Veyle, not to mention her FINALLY acknowledging that she's The Divine DragonTM that people have been praying to for A THOUSAND FUCKING YEARS. It's a twist on a poorly done character archetype and actually makes it remotely refreshing when compared to literally every other generic anime mother. Even Zephia got bogged down by that bullshit in the end and she didn't even have a fuckin kid lmao. I'm not trying to shit on the bonds between mothers and their kids, but christ alive can we get another character trait for these women???
You clesely haven't been playing all the other fire emblem games , cause there are literal, tsundere's , simps both Male and female, the tomboys, the doting sister, flirtatious men and women, the quiet girls , the shy girls, the overbearing fathers, the kind mothers . It's the middle ages not the modern age
I like the little confrontation Veayle does with Lumers. She knows how much her sibling loved Lumera and acknowledges that even though she was brainwashed, she still admits that she was the one that killed Lumera. Also when the camera angle is showing Alear and Veayle, it’s focusing on the blue part of Alear’s hair (at least as the female) showing that it was Lumera’s power that started to change Alear’s hair and eye color before being interrupted by Somberon’s awakening
The fact that the only times lumera doesnt act as a puppet is when she talks to veyle shows how much she hates her anf it makes too much sense i love it
I didn't like that i had to fight lumera she was so nice and the bastard sombron turned her into a corrupted but i had no choice but to fight her it was hard
