Can you imagine the mental torment of what Ike has to go through? Being split open by a giant sword and then being forcibly stitched back together by a magic staff to fight on; then have the cycle continue for four or five times? Fire Emblem can be really gruesome underneath it all...
MetaSplendid Ultra not as gruesome as the wyrmslayer...all those scales ripped from the body, literally getting skinned alive, only to have them brought back and skinned again
That moment when it's your first hard mode run and you didn't know about Berserk Ashnard and Reyson is like right next to him because you thought the chapter would just end and you can guess the rest.
Haha, oh lord you just saved my scrubby little heart! XD I'm playing this on hard mode now after just getting this game again for the first time in years. I thought this was a hack at first, but now I've done a little more research. Gosh, Reyson would have been DEAD!!
Yeah. It turns out the Black Knight faked his death so that Ike would leave and get stronger over the years, allowing him to challenge him again later on at his full strength.
She can be, but she's hard to train. Plus, by the time you get her, you have Soren, who, if you use him, would probably be a higher level. If you don't want to use Soren, Ilyana makes a great replacement
I did this battle right now and I just block Ashnard from moving by surrounding him with 4 people and only Ike attacking with Oscar support made him dodge everything Ashnard try to hit him.
Well, yes, while Soren's stats are better, his Strength growth is the lowest in the game, at 5%, meaning he will get a major speed decrease with simple wind tomes, which almost negates his speed advantage over Ilyana. So, while Soren's not a bad character, Ilyana kind of beats him in terms of usefulness.
and i thought Nergal and the Dragon was hard (FE 7 of some of you dont know) i had Ike level 20 and he only did 9 damage and it took him forever to do Aether i wasted 9 Elixirs :/ but then again i only used Ike to fight Ashnard
@dangercats77 Berserk Ashnard is only on Hard mode. He also had some pretty high stats on Ike in order for him to do so well. If I recall, I beat Ashnard fairly easy because I nearly maxed out everything on Ike in my run several years ago.
me: *beat this game like 7 times, once at least on each mode* yet I've never seen this before 0_0 It's amazing what you can miss without knowing was there for years...now I want to go play the game again
Yeah turns out there are two ways to not be influenced by the medallion. 1. You could be incorruptable like Mist. 2. You could be so insane that the medallion can't make you any more insane.
This is an odd reference but it kinda reminds me of how Murray shows up in Sly 3. "Greetings citizen, I- INSPECTOR FOX?! ...man you really did it this time." Like, I just sorta see him entering in a similar fashion lmao
That is still sane for Ashnard standards. Which is not saying much, the bar is not that high with him. It's not like Greil, who went from knowing what he is doing to kill his wife while going berserk. Ashnard is already mad and berserk without the medallion, so what they probably meant was that he was touching Lehran's medallion, but he was unchanged in his personality.
Pretty much this. ^ Ashnard can still form coherent sentences of sentience while under the influence of Lehran's Medallion, which is fucking incredible, given even Greil wasn't able to do that. There's a lot more to Ashnard than meets the eye.
I’ve always wondered if Ashnard had the ‘balance of order’ in him that prevent the medallion from making him “crazy” OR if he was so crazy that the medallion that the medallion couldn’t make him crazier 🤔
The second one is much funnier since it would mean the two extremes are what keep the Medallion in check. Mist is so extremely pure that the medallion has no effect on her. On the other hand, Ashnard is so unendingly insane that it can’t make him more insane, thus, no effect.
How sweet would it have been to be able to unlock Berserk Ashnard? I would have beaten the game 50 times if required. Also, Intelligent Systems should have added Greil as an unlockable character. I'm talking about the pre-sliced tendons Greil and not the weakened one you fight in the prologue.
Lots of bonus experience in the beginning to get her stat up to snuff, then giving her a forged steel sword when she promotes (and an Arms Scroll). Once she gets up to B in swords, she can use the Sonic Sword for insane damage. She instantly became on of my best damage dealers. Plus when using Physic staves, she gains a lot of experience.
I dont get this, Ashnards coat and Rajions wings were red, (red is a sign of evil, blood, bad things etc.) But when he goes berserk, it turns green? Green is usually a sign of peace of some sort. So...Ashnnard was insane to begin with! But when he touched the medallion...he become green?????? ...Hmm maybe he was unbalanced and became so insane that he called out and said KILL ME, or....maybe I'm just looking to hard into this.
I just finished my first ever Hard run of PoR recently. My mistake in the final fight: I didn't know Ashnard moved. He went after Titania and I spent two turns scrambling Ike to get between him and her. I was so relieved she didn't get criticaled. >_>
The best thing about ashnard is his little dragon... i forgot his name but it was not an ordinary dragon if im not mistaken... sometimes my brain screws me over :D
I just did this battle and legitimately almost ran out of Physics because my maxed out Ike refused to proc Aether for like 20 turns. Next time I’m going Resolve Wrath for sure.
he's touching the medallion, yet he's still sane. was he in the first place? trying to bring a god who will destroy the world back doesn't exasctly sound sane to me
I had Soren there with Ike for the support bonus and so I had a second healer for Ike, letting me attack on my turn without worrying about getting 2-shotted. Ashnard kept attacking Soren, but he would've been slaughtered without the blessed armor. As it was, Ashnard would attack Soren, miss, and take 3 hits from Elwind. 2 turns of that kind of damage would have been more than enough to kill him.
Oh right, I forgot about a crucial step for me. xD I was planning on transferring with that Hard mode run, and so I boss abused Bertram in Ch. 26. It took a long time, but I got everyone up to around Lv17 or 18 before killing him (accidentally) with Soren (damn 2% crit chance). For Mist I healed everyone who gained an HP when they leveled, and spent a few rounds attacking Bertram with her forged steel sword as well. She was Lv19 at Endgame, but gained 100 EXP when she used the Ashera Staff.
. . . . . . . . . . Wut. . . . . . . ? Why did... How did... Why don't I remember this?!?!?! D: Either this part was so horrifying that I repressed my memories of this... or I have the worst memory in the world! What the fu mate?!
Best end boss in the series. Actually moves around the map and can kill almost any of your guys. The rest may be durable and deal high damage, but they don't move so they are not that threatening.
Ultellen Nocnir If they don't know any different, than yeah, sounds about right. If nothing else, they embrace insanity because it's not as boring as sanity or something.
