I think Fire Emblem Warriors been in development around the release of Hyrule Warriors in 2014. I can't wait to see how this story turns out in the game. I think this game is just gonna have another crossover. You know, Dynasty Warriors and Zelda from Hyrule Warriors?. That's my thoery.

I believe they have officially stated that they are "mainly" focusing on Awakening, Shadow Dragon, and Fates. They cited that if they included all lords there'd be to many sword users, plus I would assume to large a cast. There may be a few others here and there, especially in DLC, but those 3 'series' mainly. They also said that the Weapon Triangle is in this game to some extent and that there will be some kind of supports.

I'm a little disappointed but I still like it. Sure its not the best but they added these characters because they're the popular and most iconic ones you know by sight. I really like the OCs though, remind me of Lissa.

it's only one trailer, there will be plenty more to show other characters. like seriously for a game like this to sell, you need to put as many fan favorites as possible. it's like if a new smash was announced and everybody complains about no link in the reveal. there's no way link would not be included in a new smash. people are jumping the gun too early.

so you expect the devs to make around 15 to 20 playable characters in one game (plus the ones who have already been made) and get it released for the planned date AND cost the average game prize?

You misunderstand me. I'm not asking for all of these characters to appear. Sure, I know the devs want to sell their game, but to have only 3DS era characters is honestly pretty sad. If you want to make a game representative of Fire Emblem as a series, for gods' sake, make it actually *represent* Fire Emblem, not myopically focus on its dating-sim period. I know you'll argue DLC. I'm sure (I hope, anyway) that a famous GBA character or even PoD/RD character will show up, say, Lyn or the Smash characters. But it's pretty disappointing to see that the initial product won't actually be representative of the Fire Emblem that I, and many other fans, know. Or used to know, anyway.

It is sad. And I'm sure they'll add in Ike and some other "staples" as DLC, but that's not the same thing. I really love PoR and Radiant Dawn and would like to use the characters other than Ike from those games.

I was originally excited for this game. Recent news and this trailer has killed my excitement. And this is coming from someone who started with Awakening and enjoys Fates. I want to see the other games represented. I don't want a focus on the big 3.

OhYeahChannel The day they dub Marth in Smash Bros is the day I refuse to buy any new versions of that game. I'd stick with Brawl, 3DS and Wii U instead. The Smash version of Marth actually means a lot to me for personal reasons, so I'd prefer if they left him the way he is in previous Smash games.

I think that they'll still add the really popular characters even if those games aren't being focused on.

The series has driven a point that Ike is the strongest of them all, I feel that aspect alone would be reason enough for him to be in the game. On top of which, it seems Ike's marketing value is highly underestimated. To be fair the Tellius games didn't sell well on the consoles although the branding around Ike himself is still top notch.

Noe Contreras although this is a good point, we have to accept that Nintendo and IS aren't even handling this directly, instead it's Koei Tecmo.

You have a point, most of the comments are about the older FE characters. All I care is If it's going to be fun and enjoyable.

Dr. Oooh well you can't use that same logic with the twins being recognizable, but they're in here anyway. It conveys to most of everyone that Koei Tecmo doesn't care about the brevity of the game they're representing. On that note, this is a bad representation of Fire Emblem: characters from only three games, subpar va's and (personally) a horrible character design for Marth. Fire Emblem isn't just about dudes with swords, but what do you see in the trailer? Your disregard of the complaints are unfounded.

Nagra But the twins are part of the new story, which is another reason for the games purpose? (Nobody complained at the new LOZ characters being originally introduced with the standard cast.) This new story, in a new setting and region should probably involve new characters, to me, that just makes sense for advertisement and an overall sense of a new game. As otherwise, fans would be confused whilst new players could feel isolated. I get the complaints with them only showcasing sword fighters, but they did mention that weapons can be switched out to help with the weapon triangle, so this includes lances, axes etc. They have chosen the most known Fire Emblem characters for the overall international audience for this initial, first look trailer, whilst introducing the plot characters. This, sadly, predominately involves the Fates and Awakening cast, plus Marth being famous from Smash. This does not mean that the company does not care for the game, but they are using the currently most iconic characters to showcase it. C:

You have a good point, but for example, ike is like the most popular fire emblem character and he isnt here, even if you havent played pre 3ds era games you know him. If they had least had shown one character from pre 3ds era games, people wouldnt be disappointed.

To be fair, some were japan-exclusive, so almost nobody out of japan knows them, awakening is one of the best in my eyes, but i have to agree that birthright was one of the worst. I have nothing against having more chars from FE13/14 because they are known better. But almost only them is pretty meh.

MrDeflador well in the choose your legends popularity poll from a while back . The top 2 characters were Ike ( path of radiance and radiant dawn )and Lyn (blazing sword ), both whom aren't from fateswakening or shadow dragon. Really can't deny their popularity but IS would still try excluding these characters .

Edea Lee It's all from a business point of view. Awakening and Fates sold the most and have the biggest fan base. Of course they are going to focus on the games that made the biggest profit. They'll get more money that way if they target the majority. This is coming from a fan of both the older and the newer games. But the older games really don't have as many fans as you think.

Desmond Hollins who are any of the old fans being elitist about this. All we want is representation from older games , in the choose your legends popularity poll done a while back the 2 most popular characters were Ike and Lyn. The community has told IS that those characters are widely recognized and loved but IS decides to shun them. Even more so with their comment of saying how the game won't be a lord meet up because "too many sword units" but still decides to exclude the only primary lance lord Ephraim and only primary axe lord Hector. We aren't trying to hate on newer games but we would like IS to support the older games.

Well according from a poll held by Nintendo none of these are the most popular. Heck Xander and Ryoma didn't even break Top 20. I do get where you're coming from but the most popular character in the trailer was Chrom who placed 8th.
