an old 9 pin Oki at that! It works so why change it? Dot matrix are far more reliable than inkjet. They don't need colour & the running costs are lower than lazer. Also it is faster than a lazer or inkjet
Actually NONE of that was stock footage. It was shot for a project it was used in, but we thought it would be fun stand alone. Looking back at it there are a couple of serious continuity errors. The ones you always spot when it is too late to do anything about it.
Interesting point.... As it was a demo for us they may have used the bell rather than use the proper klaxon which would of course be on the automatic system.
The sound at that point is the real audio. As this was a set up for the video, not a real launch I don't think the proper automated system was used. AFAIK that is triggered by the dispatcher (not at the station) So the bell is what ever they could fire up locally. Also the siren at the end is dubbed as they could not use their own for this because the Station is between two road junctions and opposite a housing estate. This was recorded in 2017 if that makes any difference?
😅😅😅Yeah they did a good job on leaving the station by ordering some pints of of beer awaiting their arrival back at the station, well done lads don't forget to settle your bill come pay day😮
Re watching it and looking at the original clips we may have cut 10 seconds or so but certainly not 90s. However there is a real continuity error in there re the main doors. (no one ever spots it) the other clanger is the siren... it is a US one not a UK one. As the station is opposite a housing estate the would not run the sirens for a non-emergency launch.
@@JAmediaUK now...come on...i was in FB .... dress pre leaving on station was a joke.. you are as slow as the last person...so you can dress in 10 secs?...no chance....if you are saying dressing loses only 10 secs, then you are a loyal employee to HR and H+S ...two depts that have no clue to operations on the fire ground and are a menace to the service.
@@IansOddInterests I am not in FB, I was in a different uniform but that is another story.NEVER in HR or H&S. I said, looking at the original clips ( we used 2 cameras) not the final edited version, we only cut about 10 seconds of elapsed time. I did not say that it took 10s. 90s to go though the changing area is very slow. Not what they did on the night.
@@JAmediaUK HR etc have a 90 sec policy of alert and leaving the station fully dressed with seatbelts on in 90secs... virtually impossible to achieve..ie 15 secs to get to your gear ..55 secs to dress.....20 secs to book mobile.....all well and good when waiting for a alert when filming...during drill, lectures, or day to day duty...no chance... the only way to achieve is to book mobile when you are not mobile.. but then the time to arrive appears slower because you havnt left at all...HR and H+S have bred lies...previously, it was alert, Mount appliance , dress enroute..all truthful..now thanks to HR and H+S it’s fibs.
@@IansOddInterests I am nothing to do with the FB or their HR and H&S who had zero involvement with the filming. It was just the watch and two of us. You were talking about time to get dressed. Now it is time from alert to leaving. Not the same thing at all! As noted by me (and you ignored) was the comment about the door. You are watching an edit that was shot out of sequence. Also the watch were doing things in parallel. They (the watch) also approved it before it went out.
just for you I will re do it with the proper siren. Actually there are a couple of other errors that are really starting to bug me so it could do with some re-working! :-)
I wasn't saying 2 minutes was bad ,,..when I was a pump driver in Chester in 1969 we had it down to when the bells went down to 1 minute to blues and 2 on the road that give me 3 minutes to be on seen . I was lucky to get 60 mph out of my pump in them days I have the most respect for are frie fighting men and women 🙏
It was all filmed at the same time. However it isn't an actual shout it was done purely for the cameras and like all fiction not shot in order. Had you been observant you would have noticed the lack of continuity on the main door. Also the siren on the sound track is a US fire Engine. I suggest for good editing technique people can look at the videos you have made on your channel.
