I follow the guest's mindset. I think the scummiest thing I ever did was there was a shop back where I used to live that sold junk stock from big stores like Walmart. The junk people returned because it was faulty, so now this store sells it for a buck or two. Well I would buy appliances from them and then go to Walmart and buy the same appliance brand new. I'd then shove the busted one in the box and keep the brand new one, then return to Walmart and get full retail back on the POS I only paid a dollar for. I outfitted my whole my kitchen with a stand mixer, panini press, waffle iron, air fryer, a whole bunch of stuff and probably paid less than $50 for everything.

Just his pricing on tools tells me he hasn’t been into a store to buy tools for a very very long time.

On the funny but fraudulent side, I knew a fire fighter who lived in a rural area without a water supply. He obtained an old fire hydrant from the DPW and placed it adjacent to his property, so when his insurance company asked how far it was to the closest fire hydrant, he answered 35 yards, which was true. Since it's location helped determined his property insurance rate, his answer was fraudulent, and would void any claim for fire damage. Funny, but dumb and criminal if he ever files a claim.
