Fire in the Rain: Survival Skills Basics

If you can start a fire in the rain, you're doing pretty good in my book. Here in the Pacific Northwest, fire ladders (aka the fry branches low on trees) are often too wet to immediately use, and normal tinder is soaking wet unless under GOOD cover.

Good video and excellent advice, but if noticed when you went about making the fire it wasn't in fact raining! Maybe you should have changed the title of the video to "fire after the rain"? Just an observation :)

In some situations cutting of logs and splitting into pieces is much energy consumption for some one who is fighting for survival, and he suddenly came to know this idea. So this way needs more search to find more easy way of fire I am sure there would some way which would able to start fire even on water without any chemical interference by simple available means

that bark on that old snag is also a good way to start a fire.... "fur" or "pine" bark is usually the better to use. the thicker the better, even though it might be wet on the outside the core of the bark will be dry and bark burns very hot..... food for thought..............

Love the videos! I want to ask you is it possible to build a fire using a fire drill or the technique that you spin the shaft in your hand ( sounds bad I know, can't remember the name of it) if it's wet like that?
