Speakers are driven by Crown Amplifiers. 1 speaker for voice dispatch the other for scanner audio. Voice dispatch resets 45 seconds after carrier drop. Two large monitors display Active 911 with responders and hydrant locations. LED scroll boards display event locations during a call or general information.

For what it's worth, a lot of companies in this area prefer the bells and or klaxon especially in the engine room. The trend nationwide is that we are going to softer forms of alerting. I install whatever the station wants, and a lot of stations still prefer bells. Check my other videos, there are some that have simple soft sounders as well. It's whatever the station wants.

The alarm at my local fire station in the UK starts off quiet and then slowly increases volume so it doesn't scare you. This system is VERY over the top

The object of the station tones is to scare the living sh#t out of you, because if you are 2 hrs into a 4 hr sleep cycle you need to wake up and run to the truck in under 45 seconds and be out the door 15 seconds after. When a call comes in, seconds matter, and loud tones ensure everyone in the house knows it's time to roll.

Way better system that what we had; Tones and dispatch go out to -every- station (as well as portables not assigned a tac channel) and so you don't know who is getting dispatched until after the tones and you hear: "Engine___, Medic___" Pain in the butt if you're at a quiet station and keep getting woken up in the middle of the night because there are 30 other stations getting calls.

Damn. Bells? Flashy lights? Haven't seen that in 20+ years. Try nice soft electronic tones and a dim light in the bunkroom. Doesn't jack your heart rate, taking 18 minutes off your life for every call.

that's what i'm saying. here in the LA area, departments have softer but still loud tones and that still gets my heart racing.

I was at a fire station that no fire fighters are at and it was used for family pictures and some speakers in a small room and i get a little nervous about them screaming out at any time and hear this 0:05

Whoa. Those horns do almost sound like the Wheelock AS/MT fire alarms.
@jackiewong2770
@jackiewong2770 6 лет назад
Dank Memer 57 given the sound of the Wheelock UTA-1, it is a modified name of the Wheelock AS/MT Fire Alarm Horn, which uses that exact same sound as the AS/MT Horn, just without the strobe light (and a different color on the outside and no FIRE lettering). Here is the video link to the Wheelock UTA-1: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bUT8kcWC7-4.html

I wonder, because I know that emergency weather radios tend to have a 3.5mm "ALERT" jack beside the audio jack, which apparently sends a signal to a connected device if an alert state is triggered, do these fire station radios connect similarly to their stations' alarm systems?

the alarm horn sounds like a spectra alert type alarms which apartments including mine have , but mine play the 3 tones (Loud).

Nicodo123 the 2 tone signal was Quick Call 2 paging. That is used to set off the pagers and trigger the alerting system as well.

Feel sorry for the figher fighters at night. Must give them heart attacks. Maybe it should be a bit calmer like eg the LFB. They have a not so "Scary" Alarm.
@nepnepguythegreatestofall6032

But the so called "Scary" alarm is needed to wake them up and get them all pumped up cause a lazy like alarm would not make it any better.

Hello :) What is the name of the alarm?
@countyfire911
@countyfire911 7 лет назад
This is a custom system that I designed. The Bells you hear are manufactured by Suns International. There are 8 inch, 6 inch, and 4 inch bells. There is also a UTA-1 by Wheelock(electronic horn) in the engine room.

No prob. I have all kinds of different alarm items. Feel free to send me a message if you're looking for some ideas. The UTA can be used on telephone ring voltage (90v) or 24vdc. There are screw terminals on the inside for a positive and negative connection if you dont want to use the telephone jack.
