I'm in my 60s and about 5 years ago I had a passion to play 🎸. I didn't know where came from then. My father who got dementia before he passed.... told me he played saxophone when he was younger ( I was surprised but he was always singing Frank Sinatra around the house) . As my dad talked ( sadly but by God's grace dementia had talking about things he never did before...he knew music theory ). I will never understand why my father never encouraged us, when we were kids to play 🎵🎶.. cuz 🎶🎵 touches the soul. So as I listen to this I will be thinking of my father in his younger years playing BUT to quite my mind so I can get in to God's presence. My uncle told me that my father was really good at playing sax

Piggy backing off the comment I just read I’ll be 65 this year and my father who departed this life what? some 41 years ago played the saxophone and me being his youngest son but named after him was the only one that his musical trait passed on too, and pick up playing the trumpet at what 11 years old. Back in them days, what the late 60’s, 1968 to be exact, in the public schools in Paterson NJ, there was a music teacher that came to the school maybe twice a week and if you played an instrument, a student was allowed to go practice with Mr. Vavino. Now you see Mr Vavino could play other instruments but his favorite was the saxophone 🎷. Mr Vavino taught me how to play the trumpet very well, even how to read musical notes and everything. I remember him and myself perform a musically presentation in the school auditorium on stage, just Mr. Vavino and me, him playing his saxophone and me playing my trumpet, not knowing then it is actually the Shofar! Mr. Vavino had even wrote a jazzy selection 🎶 called 2x6=Blues. I ended up selling my trumpet which my Dad had brought brand new after getting upset with my Dad on a few occasions when he would have company over and he had a couple drinks, he would call me into the living room and he would get out his saxophone 🎷 and tell me to bring my trumpet 🎺. Listening to the Christian music 🎶 saxophone 🎷 selections remind me of my dear Father who didn’t mean no harm when he was asking me to join him and entertain his company, today I would count it as a honor to play with my Dad if he was here. But guess what, I’ve brought me a used trumpet and I believe the gift that the Heavenly Father had gifted me with as a child is being revived this year in JESUS name! 🙏🏽 GOD BLESS!

I am a college student for right now and I am grateful. I got a talent are gift to play music 🎼 . I am a black young man and I can play the drums really good. I go to college at Alabama state university in north Alabama for now. I am majoring in music education here for now.
