Firecraft 101 - Solar Reflection: Aluminum Can Bottom on Charcloth 

Firecraft 101 Series: Solar Reflection: Polished Aluminum Can Bottom on Charcloth.
This is a pretty cool way to create a coal. The trick is to really polish the bottom on the can to a mirror like sheen. I used a cotton cloth and toothpaste (however, any micro grit will work- polish, steel wool). Having a stick to hold the charcloth allows it to be easily adjusted for the maximum solar reflection point.
