Good report and sad to hear about these wildfires that continue to plague my former state of CA. CalFIre is outstanding, along with local firefighters. They handled to major brushfires in my area down in Orange County back in 2008, 2013 and 2021 as I recall. Property insurance in CA is skyrocketing due to these fires, placing much stress on homeowners financially. Our move out of state for retirement has been a real blessing, but we keep our thoughts and prayers for those remaining SoCal friends and family still there.
Got to Hover the forest. In all seriousness, this fire season is crazy. I think about the fire fighters, they are out there in this heat, working long, hard hours. They truly are heroes.
not to diminish the seriousness of the topic, but the thumbnail for this video is hilarious. she's pointing at the largest wildfire in california history like, "guys, get a load of this. ew," and he's looking up at it like it's the mona lisa.
This particular fire started by Arson, the accused man is in jail (to the best of my knowledge). Witnesses say they saw this man ignite a car and then push that car into a gully. That’s what I have heard in the news.
Thank progressives for both. I would say "if they had to deal with these fires, they'd vote different!" But they DO have to navigate sidewalks of syringes and human poop and that doesn't seem to bother them one bit... So maybe they wouldn't.

As someone who lived in CA for over 30 years (1960s+) who grew up having 2 older siblings who worked in the Forest Service, all I can say is that THIS is what you deserve when you ignore scientific forest management. All preventable. Clear the underbrush, thin the forest of old growth and dead trees.
