As part of the NASA CLPS initiative, Firefly was awarded a contract to deliver 10 scientific instruments to the lunar surface in 2024 via our Blue Ghost lander.
Firefly is developing, qualifying, and manufacturing Blue Ghost at their spacecraft facilities just north of Austin, TX.
Thanks, ‪@FireflySpace‬ for the awesome tour!

This was a very informative and inspiring series of interviews. Getting private space companies involved in lunar exploration is so important to ensure that our return to the moon is sustainable and drives a growing space economy. Highlighting the less high profile elements of the overall Artemis programme is so worthwhile, thanks for sharing all this content Ellie and for all the effort you clearly put into it.

Just amazed at how the firefly team took the time to show you around their moon Lander and factory test centre and explaining what they are doing good for them and you Ellie for this video little side note for when they clean solar panels on the Moon they might be using a type of static charge to pull the dust off the solar panels just a theory

I guess that would change probably depending on what gaseous molecules are present at the construction of the components and how many they retain within the field itself.

Break out the charts for aluminum and other metals… See if the crystal structure changes with temperature… Off to the materials lab… to see if the material properties change with temperature… tensile strength, compression strength, and impact strength…. The space kids will have answers for you… They selected some pretty interesting materials, and were quite happy to discuss them… and the other more modern tests they were using… The buses they were discussing monitoring… Electrical distribution circuits are called buses… one device on each leg, each leg gets a form of circuit breaker to protect the device it powers… I wonder if Greyhound has any of these monitoring devices on their buses…. 😀
