No matter the guitar you review, it’s no better than the player, and everyone you play sounds great! I just received my Firefly Tele and waiting for it to come back from a proper set up. I don’t think I could ever make it sound that good. Keep it going. You’re awesome’
Ill say it again , The playing shows the enthusiasm or tolerance for the instrument. Dan the shredder with accuracy !!!! and the tasty bends and notes that shredders are lacking. Always my first view when i see new posts gentlemen. .
Thanks very much for watching and for your kind comments. I just subscribed to your channel, I hope you are video taping your work so I can follow along 😎👍!
Hi boys!! You guys beat me to it this time…(I was out of the country past couple weeks) but mine was waiting on me when I got back to the studio. A truly cool Tele and I am glad that Firebird Music continues to listen and incorporate the upgrades requested and still able to keep the costs down. Really a lot of guitar for the $$…this model has Alnico 5 pups in it, so yes…a bit hotter than normal standard Tele while still being able to get the “Tele Quack/Twang” when needed, especially from the neck/middle positions. Nice playing as usual Dan…hoping this finds you boys doing well! 🎸👍
I'm so glad sparkle finishes are coming back. My favorites. I just unboxed a Tele today. Spoiler alert . Sparkles. Lol. The video will be up tomorrow at noon. You got yourselves an awesome Tele right there. Thanks, gentlemen!
Man another nice one! Firefly is really putting out some nice stuff! I agree those pickups are just fair for a tele, but some people may think they are da bomb! As always, great playing Dan! Keep up the great vids boys! J
J-MAN, it occurs to me that this guitar looks EERILY like your Musi!!! The specs, the tuners, the finish, and a lot of the hardware look almost identical to that on the Virgo Classic/Fusion models from Musi! Interesting that it’s roughly half the price of the Musi, too. I wonder what’s up with this!
@@zuperdee yeah they are indeed similar. My guess is the electronics aren't as good, however most people wouldn't mind that. As far as price, they are quoting american prices where as mine are canadian and always double or close as compared to american pricing!
Thanks guys, I'll never get tired hearing those unplugged sustain test chords 😄 and wow, those sparkling flakes in the finish looks great 👌 Are those locking tuners staggered so you can take off the string trees? Dan, special Thank you for that very melodic jam - that's definitely a tune for a coming outtake❣️❣️
Thanks very much for watching Guenther as always. I'll leave the answers to your questions to Dan since they're directed to him. We're glad you enjoy watching our humble videos my friend 😉👍!
I can't even get over the price of this "sort of" copy of a Telecaster. Hard to believe you can get a decently playable guitar with locking tuners and stainless steel frets for this price. Fun review. Thanks gentlemen.☺☺☺
Great review as always! I recommend you to other players I know looking for solid reviews. I ordered a t type telly in the same finish. I'd like to pick up the Nashville version firefly makes as well. Be well Guys!!
Was looking for some reviews on the Firefly Mad Cat Tele I will be receiving tomorrow along with a black and grey paisley. Well, I came across your channel while looking, and I have to say it is very nice. I just finished watching this video and was pleasantly surprised. The demo of the guitar actually sounded like an instrument costing over $1,000. I will have to subscribe I reckon. Thanks for the review. P.S. I hope my Tele's don't get too jealous.
Hi, thanks very much for watching. I (Leo) think this 🤔 is the most beautiful 🎸 guitar guitars we've ever reviewed. You should be pleased with your guitar. Thanks for subscribing and welcome to the channel 😎👍!
Just got a firefly telecaster in purple/pink sparkle with the splittable humbuckers cause of this review. Its an amazing guitar… the pickups are good! Build quality is solid too.
@@leodanryan966 thanks a lot! This thing is an absolute steal for the price, tuning stability is really solid. Anyway keep up the good finds! You know i need an amp now too, just saying… 😂
Thanks very much for watching and for your kind comments, you can't go wrong with the Fender Mustang LT25. $159 on Amazon and it's what we're using in our videos now. We were using a Fender Mustang GT 100, but it was a bit larger than it needed to be for the room we're recording in.
@@leodanryan966 haha i think you guys are also mind readers. Thats actually what im using currently! Thanks for the recommendation either way! Haha it is a very solid versatile amp! Cheers!
Thanks very much for watching Cal, and or Rocko. I have two friends who have done that one, but it's not the Firefly, it appears to be the same but under the name "M Musi". We're glad you enjoyed our humble video 😉👍!
I have two tellys, and one was ice pick sharp, the other sounds kinda dark, but usable tone wise. I'm trying to find a sweet spot by adjusting pickup height, but might have to change pickups. Thanks you two.
Great review guys. How does it compare with the mono price tele? As with all budgets, new electrical and wiring schemes are a must. So build is most important to me. Especially neck construction. Thanks guys 🎸
Thanks very much for watching, and for your kind comments and question. Personally I think this guitar is very close to the quality of a Fender American Telecaster, perhaps better. The guitar is just a great guitar. I hope this helps you out 😎👍!
Nice guitar, 'BUT', your playing was TOTALLY AWSOME!!! SO TASTEFUL & MELODICALLY STRONG!!! Every shredder can learn from you my friend, and should!!! WOW!!! You ROCK my friend!!! Be safe, Rock On - God Bless!!!
Good morning fellas! She's a sparkly one. Definitely sparkly. I surely do like it. It sounds like a Tele and mostly looks like one too. A little jig saw work on the head and most people would probably be none the wiser. That was a cool jam that Dan cranked out for us, as usual. Thanks for another great unboxing/demo. I'm glad that there were no major issues with this one. BTW, what was the original cost for the Strat and was it an even swap for the Tele? Thanks again boys. Have a great weekend!!
Thanks very much as always Marky for watching and for your kind comments and questions. Yes the Strat and Tele are exactly the same price, we also swapped the blue Les Paul copy, but for a completely different color 😉 👍!
Cool vid. I dig the guitar. And I dig the player. I'm like others in here..... the body looks a ton like the Musi Black Galaxy. And the Leo Jaymz sparkle Teles too. Just the different head-stock, like others have said. You can't help but think that maybe there's a huge factory in China that is churning out tons of these bodies... and they are putting different head-stocks and parts on them, to market them that way. I don't know. And I don't care. I like many of these brands. Just sayin' ........... that's what it looks like.
Thanks Jimmy for watching and commenting. They actually have a more exact copy of the M Musi Tele copy. You know, no pickguard and two humbucker pickups. Galaxy Black in color as well. I don't know who copied who, but I can almost guarantee that they are made in the same facility.
I was able to get a Nashville Style Tele copy a couple of years ago, but I haven't seen any lately. You may notice it hanging on the wall with a Firefly Strat copy.
Well you know that's one of my favourite paint jobs. Looks just like my musi fusion caster paint. But, it's only one-quarter the cost of what I paid for mine. That would be a keeper for me and probably make a Nashville out of it
As a matter of fact, the specs and indeed almost EVERYTHING about this guitar looks identical to the Musi Virgo Classic, except for the color, the headstock shape, the neck pickup, the price, and the wonky looking bridge placement. It looks like the same color as 2bikemike’s Musi Virgo Fusion. It certainly sounds good, despite its flaws.
@@leodanryan966 As far as Telecaster clones go, this one doesn’t seem like the most impressive one I could ever imagine… But that’s absolutely NO reflection on Dan’s playing, which is absolutely superb as always! 😉
I'm not sure what I think about this guitar. I'm not an expert, but it's pretty, it's got locking tuners, and it seems to sound pretty good and all for about $179.00. Seems like that would be enough for it to qualify as a good guitar. I have a Squier Affinity Tele, and it's not quite as good, and I think it was around the same price. You are absolutely welcome to your opinion. Some people are kind of particular about their Strat and Tele guitars.
The body looks like it has the same body curves as the EART Telecaster.... I'm interested to see if the neck single coil is warm like it too. As I'm watching you just strummed E. 😆
Once you started jamming on it, thought it sounds great! Plus I just looked, and it's only 169 with a roasted neck AND stainless steel frets and locking tuners? The comparable EART is currently 200 more (I only paid 258 for mine last December), but it doesn't have locking tuners... bridge is the same. I do the string stretch too. That price is AMAZING!!! Don't you guys have the EART Telecaster too? GREAT PLAYING!
Thanks again for watching, I haven't purchased any Eart telecaster style guitars yet. I have to purchase 4 guitars per month for the channel, and it gets a little bit expensive. I try to keep the cost of guitars under $200.
@Leo & Dan Ryan that's about the range I try stay in as well. I caught that EART on sale on Amazon last December, so I definitely understand. Even the strat you guys did went up in price I believe. Only halfway expensive guitars that I get are PRS SE. I have 2. Got a Squire Fender Telecaster Custom too, but that was used, and I was looking for the second PRS (one with 24 frets and a Floyd Rose, 😆) Love watching you guys.
I have a PRS Custom 24SE I purchased in 2018, and Dan has two or three PRS guitars. I know he has a spalted maple, a Zach Meyers, and a Hollowbody. I'm not sure if he's got any others 😎👍!
@Leo & Dan Ryan I have a charcoal black Paul's PRS SE, and a 24 SE Floyd Rose Custom I got for 500 last year with the original soft case AND Road Runner hard case, that still had the 2016 Guitar Center receipt from 2016. 😆 Honestly, I've come to enjoy playing my cheaper guitars more though. 😆
Personally, I'm a terrible guitar player. Dan is the resident guitarist on the channel. I have more guitars than I should, but I'm the one who purchases the guitars. I have lost track of how many I have given away but I quit counting at 50. I'm giving another away tomorrow, and we're having our 2500 subscriber giveaway on Saturday. I gave one to Dan for his birthday, and today is Patrick's birthday and I gave him one as well. So 4 this week Lol 😆!
They just put the strings on using the tuners like regular tuners not locking tuners. So just tighten them and all is well. No harm. Wiggle those knobs one more time!
Thanks very much for watching, and for your kind question. Unfortunately, we haven't tested the Harley Benton, so we can only recommend the Firefly, however we've never reviewed a bad Harley Benton guitar 😉👍!
I'm surprised you fellows haven't jumped on the Jet train. Check out the Jet JT 350 butterscotch blackguard, and the neck humbucker model while you're there. The $200 JT 300 is a universe better than the comparable Grote/Glarry/Donner schmoo. The Strats look pretty fine as well
Isn't it a great time to be playing? The 80s were not this good with selection. Or quality. Lol. Excellent job my TX brothers peace. Listening to the rest. Take care.
Thanks very much for watching Robert and for your kindness. We released a video about a beautiful gold top Leo Jaymz Les Paul copy Wednesday. I think you'll like it if you decide to watch 😎👍!
