I agree fully, theres so much AI Stuff which is hidden behind google Colab, with no gui and if you install it locally you need to fuck around with python or something. Coders are not lazy enough to create a whole Deep Learning AI which is super hard to do, but are too lazy to create a Graphic User Interface with simple buttons and a dropdown menu, instead they don't care if people need to write gigantic lines of text or unecessary prompts if they could simply make GUI in honestly 20 minutes. I dont understand it ... its like you knowing how to build a car from scratch but then you decide you rather not waste time on the starting process so everyone who buys your car needs to run to the dealership every day and get it unlocked instead of simply including a key.

me too (just registered) and you echo my thoughts ie to work on our own images. So far it seems to work only on Adobe stock images, or maybe I am wrong, I am a complete noob to AI :)

The entire point was that a portfolio is made of your works, someone is going to cheat they'll be using AI to make a fake portfolio.

So is using photoshop currently considered “cheating”? How about using a camera instead of hand painting it? Tools are tools, and only as good as the person that uses them. AI is no different.

@@Cimarb So, imagine you are an Art Director at an Agency and you need to hire a new Graphic Designer, and that candidate present you with an awesome Portfolio created with just an A.I. prompt, but he doesn't tell you that. You hire that guy, but then you realize that this person doesn't know what contrast, balance, emphasis, proportion, hierarchy, repetition, rhythm, pattern, white space, negative space, movement, variety, and unity is and can't even create a high quality logo or brand identity, just because he cheated on you with a A.I. created Portfolio in the first place. Got the point sir?

@@NineOneOneFx You did not answer my questions. If you are an art director and like what the potential employee creates, why does it matter what TOOL he/she used? Do you fire someone because they used photoshop? Do you fire them because they used a camera? How about if it was pastel instead of watercolor?… I think the Art Director is the one that needs fired, personally.

There's no "original art" .. everything you, me and thousand artist create are copy and someone else copy too. The copyright concept must disappear and will do, when IA democratize art and everybody could create art without need an artist. Are you ready for that moment?

An artist is constantly thinking in the process of a painting what can I do differently, change the facial expression or place the tree differently...to get the best result. AI will never be able to do that because it only puts together something from everything it has been fed. She has no idea of the basic rules that you have to know as an artist to be good. Like light physics, you see it all the time in all these AI space pictures, she just doesn't know anything about it. And copyright will never be abolished. Because there will always be intellectual property.

@@KlaudiusL tell me, are you even an artist, have you learned the basics? No artist's work is the same...not possible. It always has variations. I've been working in the games and film industry for over 30 years and one thing I know is that something new always comes along and we use it. But in the end it will always be the human being who will create the work. And yes I can paint photoreal, I was a matte painter for years. And we have to be able to do that. And programmes create images in 3D and calculate light every day. But how will an AI ever create a 3D object from a 2D image, it always lacks important 3D information to calculate the light, it can only fake it. The problem is that we humans simply become stupid because the AI takes away important processes that are important. Because we just take what the AI gives us. And that's where I think Adobe's approach is right. Their AI is supposed to help the artist with certain tedious tasks. And it doesn't steal the artists' work. And all those who create and sell images with other AIs should be prepared to be sued when the class action lawsuit is through from us. And how is an AI supposed to become a rights holder, that would only be possible if we regarded it as a person. And we are still a long way from that. At the moment the works have no copyright and several companies I work with do not accept AI images. Let's see what the future holds for us. In a few years there will be something new again.

@@paintangel13 I'm 53 yo and artist from heart since I was a child (paint and scuplture traditional medium) and then I've studied art at the University (perspective, light-shadows, materials, art history, calligraphy, human proportions, you name it), I've become profesional graphic designer, architectural concept (architecture is an habitable scuplture, me). I've sold houndreds pieces of arts and participated in anothers houndreds of community projects, I've dictate art class for free for decades. In the 80-90s when computer start to be a thing, I've embraced it and make it my own. I've moved to digital paint/draw (Photoshop, Illustrator, CorelDraw, Aldus PageMaker [still today Indesign isn't at his level], FreeHand [still today Illustrator isn't at his level], Fireworks [still today Photoshop isn't at his level]) and 3D CAD (Autocad/Rhinoceros). Way ahead all 3D artists I've incorporated 3D CAD to my art and my daily work. And then The Internet explode and I wanted to be part of it. I've had my Computer Science dedgree, which become a phD. I've programed from stock control to videogames, from desktop software to webapps, from C++, JS, CSS, HTML, SQL, Ruby, Phyton and everything in between. Configured servers for web, companies, games, social. I've fall in love with Open Source (faithful to my philosophy when I taught art for free, 0 copyright, that's for selfish people or those who feel threatened when someone else knows the same or more than them). Godot, (Unity, Unreal which are propietary but free for non commercial use), GitHub, Krita, Blender, Linux and all shareable content/knowledge. And I play videogames in my free time. Why boring my customers with a flat sheet of paper when they can walk his next house o garden in VR or AR?. A couple years ago I discovery the next revolution and the new path, a new love: Artificial Intelligence, since then I can't stop being amazed at all the advances, but mainly at all its potential because it is here to stay. Obviously, I've learned to program and train it. I know how its works. I use it to boost my potencial and productivity. I've moved to every new technology with potential to change the world for good (yes, I own an electric car). Honestly makes me very sad to read what you say. I see a person stuck in what learned, with stablished structures, comercial products, outdated, afraid of the new, don't know how AI works, don't know how Copyright works. BTW, companies don't care about artist, they try to maximize their profit and maximize their profit involve an AI generating thousand of images in a second without copyright .. for free. Try to beat that. _The next "best artist" will be the "best AI prompter"._

@@AdamsWorlds Not really about adaptation, when your work is is being pillaged to feed an AI database, then spewed out for the instant approval of a someone who spent zero hours developing the skills that produce original, creative work. Creativity is about making choices along the way. Shopping for an end result with out any sort of journey misses the whole point.

Firefly is free since it is a beta, but you cannot use the images commercially at this time.

Ikr, they're the who enable people like you to work and now will be out of work. Joke aside, I don't think client want to paid adobe and spend time understanding and fine tuning the result for a probably one off project.

With a paid membership you are the "owner" of the images Midjourney creates and you could use them for commercial use. However, all images are public and could be used by others. The copyright issues are not ideal for certain types of commercial use. Adobe is trying to solve this issue.

@@PhotoshopTrainingChannel well midjourney does have the option to use the stealth feature with paid membership. How much does adobe's cost? And is it using DALLE2 API or a proprietary adobe model?

It's still a gray area that mid will likely lose. Adobe opens the stock they used. Mid does not.

The art work? The goal is for the creator to own it. Which is why Firefly is being trained on content Adobe has rights to.
