The most incredibly underrated and undiscussed aspect of this theme tune is the way the tone and pace of the lyrics has been made to mimic the two-tone siren of a fire engine.
Born in 1996 I am very thankful I was probably part of the very last generation of children to witness these old shows in stop motion pre CGI. Kids now probably prefer CGI and it does look better granted but can't beat the nostalgia for those of us who have grown up on the old stuff!
Much agreed . The eighties were a time of explosion in culture and music. Boy, I wish I grew in it at times. The original Thomas was the heart of my childhood and only saw the modern take on shows like Fireman Sam wnd Postman Pat. But now I appreciate the older shows always so much more and that of the themes. They are aren’t kiddish like now a days, they’re art.
Mason MacDonald probably shittier CGI and Norman getting dumber and more annoying idk I’ve only watched the classic episodes and the stop motion and a small bit of the CGI (gave up after one episode) stick to the classic ones and the stop motion

I strongly miss these stop motion shows that were around when I was kid. Another from the same company as this was Joshua Jones, but there was also Postman Pat and Charlie Chalk from the Ivor Wood company. Oh, I nearly forgot the Trapdoor, that was another one.

CraneProductions27 Me too Ross me too. The stopmotion and CGI series might not be as good as the original but they are both still great and underrated if you ask me.
Don't mind me, writing this for my own reference: Coming to this after Leafy from BFB said the word "Fireman" to Firey in the last moments of BFB 30, and it instantly gave me flash of memory. And I had just finished watching BFB at this time, one year late.

I had original vhs videos of Fireman Sam as a kid along with Thomas the tank engine, Postman Pat, Brum, Pingu and many more. I wish I'd kept them just for the pure nostalgia since I don't have anything to play them on anymore.
Never watched this show, but the song and animation style remind me of my childhood, in a kids' toy/public television kind of way. :) It's a nice song to listen to on a rainy day.
Put this song on for my boys earlier. It brought me away back to when I was a kid and brought back happy memories. This has got to be the best theme song ever for a cartoon show. Loved the first episodes of fireman Sam compared to the recent ones

Despicable! 2012: Much better CGI animation! 2014: Much better! 2016: The best CGI era! 2017: Good 30th Anniversary celebrational episode! 2018: Okay season, but great film! 2020: Great! 2021-2022: A huge improvement!
A trip back to 1984/85, with the pre-Kings Cross disaster uniforms consisting of: polymer helmets(without eye shields) woollen Jackets & waterproof yellow trousers. A different world, but the best theme tune of all of the eras of Fireman Sam.

I hate it when shows get ruined because of CGI bob the builder and fireman Sam and Thomas and friends have had this done too them there really nostalgic but then it gets ruined Edit:I rewatched the old and some new fireman Sam episodes the new one are alright never will be the level of the original Edit 2: still bad

Back when the shows actually respected the kids' potential cleverness, but today, they focus way too much to respect them, that at the end, I can easily say that they are being purely hypocritical.
They usually never outright stated the morals in shows like sam or thomas in the older episodes and respected the viewers intelligence. To put it short they didnt think we were stupid.
That episode was "Home From Rome" (Series 4, Episode 1), and he helped Bella Lasagne and her cat Rosa out of the stuck elevator. I like that episode. :)
My favourite episode of Fireman Sam is Spot of Bother when there was a fire at the fire station and Norman drew chicken pox on his and other people's faces!!!!!!
+NWR1991 Oh is that the reason? I asumed it was because it was easy to just shove somebody onto a computer and make him puke out the lowest quality 3d models they can get away with. I really wish there was more animation of models. On the bright side, 2D animation on flash has gotten to the point where it isn't horrible to look at.
