Being raised Asian means you don't liking waste anything, and you brother is a shining example of what that frugality means in terms of being a creative thinker!
Im sure Mrs Eco loves the new architecture , its sooooo aesthetically pleasing to the eye😂......You mentioned the moisture coming out of the wood, you might find that as the water vapour travels and cools along the exhaust it might condense in the aluminium section, and you get a nasty surprise flood, but hope not👍
She's accustomed to seeing things like this since the first day she met me so no surprise here. :D Moisture condensed on the glass only within the first 2 minutes. When everything is warm enough, they all vaporize and exit out the exhaust.
You need some sort of radiator that you can pipe the exhaust through, then have a fan blowing across the radiator to move the heat into the room. Its a shame that you can't use a car radiator for that, it would be perfect, but since it's soldered, it would fall apart with the high temps from a wood stove. I'm sure someone here knows a better substitute.
Is your house leaking in the make up air to replace what goes up the chimney? When I had a woodstove that used inside air for combustion, the air would come in from all over the house. Cracking a window slightly open made an easier path and you could really feel the draft.
The mistake though is to think heat is only transmitted via hot air convection. There is infrared radiation as well. That's why in old building with widow radiators but leaky window you still gets very warm.
It can be dangerous to route your chimney like that. It won't create enough pull so it creates the chance that carbon dioxide will leak in the room. Like mentioned before buy a co detector.
You might think about those oven fans (instead). Forcing cold air over the hot metal might give more benefits than just letting the heat radiate. And they might be more pleasing to the eye of the Mrs.😂
That one, alongside with a chimney/dampener heat exchanger is what you wanna have there ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-v2xIquPhSao.htmlsi=SnB8uIJuzXwqGzRH
Hiya mate, a heat exchanger, with a fan, was something I skipped in building my DIY wood burner but always wanted, fairly simple to build, I'll try to get the link for you, hope crazy RU-vid won't delete my comment.
