Love the vid. Could I have that done but put the lintel much higher so that could use the freed up space for fitted wardrobe as bedroom very small?

Great video, thanks. Did you need building regs permission for this or is it just notifiable? Also, do you reckon it could be done further up to accommodate a range cooker?

Professionals would have used a 1/4" thick 3x4 steel lintel. Place the lintel so the upright part is away from the front. Then lay brick on its ledge and tuck point mortar between the brick and brick above. The lintel should be 8" longer than the opening width. (so 4" on each end).
