i guess Im asking randomly but does someone know a way to get back into an instagram account? I somehow forgot the account password. I would love any assistance you can give me!
@Maddox Dustin Thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Insomnia + anxiety + tight budget = me catastrophizing and looking up the most cost effective way to protect important documents. I knew it was too good to be true to find "fireproof document bags" and at such low prices haha. Fine print is everything. Tonight I learned that "Fireproof" does not automatically mean "direct flame proof". After watching this video I went back and read the fine print for all of the bags I previously looked at online. Sure enough they all say something like "Fireproof does not mean it could support endless fire exposure, we suggest you store our product in a fire safe box for most security"... but now the safes aren't a sure bet either?! I wonder if "concrete backyard bunkers for important documents" are a thing...
Thank you for making this. I just spent over $900 worth of the box version of these bags with the hopes that my photos would be protected. You confirmed my worst fear, but at least there’s some protection
Thank you for putting a great vdo and I know u probably put so much time doing this vdo especially building that house. This vdo should be 1 million like and people that subscribed. Thank you again.
Your local community is lucky to have you in their civil service. Regards to the video, very useful effort. You've brought authenticity to a problem we all face, and for which we need an authentic reference point. If anyone is looking to purchase a fireproof bag it's to withstand the house fire test which you created perfectly. It is probably the case that if someone was unfortunate to have a fire, their first priority would be to evacuate other humans followed by possibly animals in the house, leaving no time for documents. Following your test i believe buying this product would give a false sense of security, because once out of the burning structure, there is no return. No one would buy this bag with the idea that a candle will fall on it. This bag would be stored in a closet, or drawer, meaning that for the purpose it is intended for, it's useless
I'm planning on getting a fireproof bag to put in the UL listed safe I just bought. Hopefully that's enough protection from any reasonable disaster I might expect.
Helpful video. I actually bought these based on this review. A competitor’s bag popular on Amazon failed in only a few minutes just being near hot campfire coals in my own test. That the documents survived that blowtorch is pretty impressive to me.
@@7bo0ob I see a cut at 2:37 ... and at 4:09 and there might be others. I didn't look for 'em all. But with either of those ... Its difficult to say he did anything deceptive. It appears the lighting and other elements of the frame are the same, or, within the same time frame. But ... as I said ... its not really possible to assert that as being absolute.
It's very clear these bags would do nothing if you had a full on burn to ground house fire, however there's no doubt that these bags would provide some temporary protection against smaller, more easily controlled blazes, especially if they're also inside a safe. This is why it's so important to have digital copies of all important documents. If you're not a fan of cloud storage, even a simple USB kept at a friend or family members house would be helpful and that way you can encrypt it with a password.
Best fire test on You tube! Had my doubts about these bags. Perhaps can be used as a secondary protection in a fire safe! But then which fire safe is really safe? Hint hint...hope Super Luckies can test a fire safe(s)..soon?
👨🚒Great demonstration! 🔥🔥🔥 How about a bag inside of a bag, inside of a fireproof case? That would definitely increase the chances. I saw that some pieces of paper were kind of salvageable being protected just by a single bag.
Exactly. That would likely save the documents as long as it doesn’t sit for more than a half hour since that’s what most of those are rated for. Those bags are so thin on their own. Those safes have like concrete within the plastic among other strong materials hence why they are so heavy and bulky. A bag within a bag within a safe would likely make a massive difference.
So what do you think of putting the bag in a fireproof safe? How much time would it add to withstanding the fire.. most safes only have 30-60 min window. Can you test that?
The US Treasury will replace currency that is burned if there is enough left to determine its face value and to authenticate it. So for currency I'd be looking for a container that would itself withstand high heat and keep the currency intact. I have used this service, though not for fire-damaged currency, and it was a valuable service. In my case I had accidentally shredded bills. Add my thanks to all those below for educating us.
Thank you very much for this video. May God keep you and yours safe. As a American Trucker U appreciate all of our front line workers! So what would you recommend for a bag then? Fire Safe for house and a water proof bag for bugout? Thank you in advance
I have my important docs inside a VitalTech FR bag ($25 online) inside a water/fire proof SentrySafe chest ($30-WalMart), I think the bag inside the chest is the way to go, some would say it's overkill but it isn't. At least I know if the worst happens to the house at least my documents will survive no matter what.
Great video, what do you suggest for a fire ? is there something that can survive it ? you say that even a safe wouldn't. The question is then, what would ? Cheers
could you do another test this time using a smaller bag and put it in a bigger bag to see if it make a big difference to have a small one inside a bigger one? (like with the Roloway brand that seem the best one)
Hey, I was looking at this video because I googled fireproof bags, and here you are. Small internet, huh? He has over 100k subscribers on his other channel which is adventure oriented. ru-vid.com
@@thestateofreal2533 But, you have to wonder. Did RU-vid's algorithms queue up Max's video when I searched for fireproof bags BECAUSE it knows I subscribed to your channel, so it interlaced one of your subscribed channels as a selection in Google? Let's face it friend. There are too many millions of web users for us to have encountered one another here by pure coincidence. And, as much as I enjoy your on-screen persona and charm, I can assure you that I didn't follow you here. This is annoying to feel that we are being manipulated by Google.
@@FoundingRU-vidr-2005Appreciate your response! Does fireproof safe will have bigger chance? I'm looking into SentrySafe. Main reason is fire proof, as I'm only planning to store documents and items which have sentimental value.
I’d love to know they would perform inside of a good safe. Mine is rated for 110 minutes. I have important things inside this type of bag inside the safe…
Very helpful. Doubling up a safe and bag is the way Im going but I now better understand the limitations here, thanks to this video. Im surprised not one single commenter made the irrelevant observation of how gorgeous this man is by the way
My cousin wanted me to search online for a tiny safe Do you know of anything that is very small to just hold money that would be as protective as a safe but just not be conspicuous to look like a safe
Did anyone else cringe @ 3:41 when he comes close to the soldering torch with the open flame? All in all, a great video and well presented. I'm glad I'm not your neighbor, you know with all the smoke and stuff...
too funny, i'm a Taco offroadie and follow your "other" channel. Needing a fireproof solution since I can't access my safe deposit box at the bank during this craziness.
What's his 'other' channel? Also, you can't access your safe deposit box right now, how bizarre? That was 4 months ago, I'm assuming they're letting you into the bank now? I wouldn't trust any of these corrupt organizations. They're all coming down now.
I would guess a fireproof bag inside a fireproof safe would be anyone's best bet. But the problem with the safe is you cannot easy conceal it in your house, unless it's an extra small one or you intend to bury it in your yard!
Great tutorial on how poorly the fireproof bags really are..... NOT!!! Here's a test you can perform. Create a drywall box made up of two layers of 5/8" type x gypsum board on all 6 sides fire caulked at the seams, nothing else. Make the box 12" x 12" cubed. Place inside a device that can take and record the temperature. Then create another demo house fire like the one used for this video and light her up. Cheers
Just saved me some money I was about to waste. Many thanks! PS what is your 'other' youtube channel? ..... Actually...... you look A LOT like the dude that rescued the Husky from the railway!
The bags should clearly be understood to be not fireproof, only resistant. Unless you luck out and the bag is only exposed to light hazard, it's worthless. Not a good plan for irreplaceable documents or photos.
So - your meter just says "high" . This is not a test unless you state how hot it got based on Temp. If you can not measure 1200 degrees house fire then this is not a test.
