"Give me a child till he's 7 and he'll be a comminist for life" - Stalin -- I guess Stalin realised the importance of 'education', i.e. indoctrination through state education.
Fortunately he was wrong. I am also from formal comunist country and I can tell that in the 70s , 80s only a small group of fools bevieved in comunism, despite beeing brainwashed from early childhood. Comunist regime is about to force people to pretend to believe in this idiotic ideology.

The fact they haven't had to experience any violence during their lifetime probably has a lot to do with these ideologies creeping back into the mainstream .
I have experienced violence. Extreme violence. So have 90% of my friends. Don't let the media convince you that the hipster liberal millenial stereotype is actually what most of us are like.
@@donja9666 There is such a thing as verbal, psychological, emotional, physical, financial, social, and spiritual abuse. There is PTSD and C-PTSD. But that was actually not what I was referring to. I was referring to how everyone has experienced violence because of Sin and what it has done to the human nature. As to the notion that words cause violence? No, but they can certainly provoke it. Contempt destroys relationships. The 5 senses but especially the eyes and ears are gateways for either sanctification/light or evil/darkness - Man (inclusively) owes due diligence to God and neighbor to vigilantly maintain custody of the mind and heart, tongue, and irascible passions and concupiscent appetites. The abundance of what fills the heart is what the mouth speaks. And only those who live most frivolously and selfishly would say that words don't matter and have no power to effect change. (Disclaimer: No, I am not referring to "magical incantations" and other delusional be-all pursuits of vicious people - power, wealth, fame, honors, pleasure.)

It needs to be mandatory that every high school have a course on Twentieth century history, SAT tests should include questions about countries with gulags, totalitarianism, and secret police.
"....gulags, totalitarianism, and secret police..." So - Guantanamo Bay, building a wall around the country, and Homeland Security? Or do you think those things only happen away from the US?
Should they also be taught about the genocide of the Native Americans, who were put in concentration camps, euphemistically called "reservations"? (Hitler was a fan of our reservations). Should they be taught that most of the hard labor that built the US into a world power was done by black slaves? As far as gulags, should students be taught that "the land of the free" now has the highest per capita incarceration rate of any nation in the world?
Same here Davida, I simply cannot understand aside from what Dennis has already explained in this video as to why Millennials support communism. It's almost as if they support it just for the sake of being different & going against the 'system' as they refer it.
How racist are you? You can not homeschool your own children that is bigoted and racist how dare you! No no i am only joking that's brilliant these aren't school these are indoctrination camps to steal the mind of your child. May God bless you.
Yep, private schools and home schooling are much better than public education. In public schools and colleges the kids are getting an indoctrination instead of education. These Commie loving millennials are products of the Educational Industrial Complex.
Banjamin Mann The implementation of a socialist system, collectivization, and a centrally planned economy is supposed to eventually lead to a true classless stateless communist society. Unfortunately that pesky thing called human nature and it’s unyielding bloodlust for power leads to the same powerful hierarchy that they loathe about western civilization. Only it’s centralized to one party and most times, one person. Because there will always be dissent, violence and revolution go hand in hand.
I am a millennial. I was lucky to have a history teacher in 10th grade to really teach us about WW2 and the cold war. I have disliked nazism and communism since 10th grade after learning about the atrocities.
@@silvernova354 I know what it is actually called. It is a Fascist movement and known to us as The Nazi Party. In Germany, yes it was referred to as The National Socialist German Workers' Party.
Silver Nova although it was called the “national socialist German workers party” is was not actually socialist because hitler still wanted to keep private businesses and hitler and the Nazi party was funded by wealthy businessmen. In fact hitler HATED Marxism and killed anybody that read the communist manifesto and he also insisted on protecting private property. Btw North Korea calls themselves a Democratic republic when it is neither a democracy nor a republic.
@@Jacob-yg8lg "Still wanted to keep private business" The economy of Germany was at the hands of the Government (the NAZI party). You can't have private business and a totalitarian state at the same time, that's impossible. By the way, Karl Marx hated Jews and he was a NAZI too. The first thing I'll do is vote so hard to stop that from happening if that doesn't work well we might need a new revolution liberty must live or else the basic human rights guaranteed by God protected by government will be gone forever.
The fact that you believe communism abolishes human rights just proves the ignorance of people nowadays and how they have been affected by propaganda which has literally changed the definition of communism, into something evil.
How fitting that that saying was on a sign hanging above Jim Jones's body after he murdered all of his followers with Cyanide laced kool-aid back in 1978. For those that don't know, his cult was heavily communist-leaning. Let that sink in.
Was in high school from 2009-2013 and I never once heard anything about the gulags. People my age do not know what they were unless they sought out information that I have.

Millennials support communism because they simply don’t know any better. As a mother of three millennials I can say that their public school education was so lacking that there are just huge gaps in subjects we aging baby boomers take for granted. Liberals are teaching our children trash, watered down history and and have smeared and bad mouthed US history and culture. My daughter had a professor (women’s studies- total BS course!) that Catholic women are the most repressed group of any religious group! I said, is there anything that your grandmother and I cannot say or do? Is anyone dictating how we dress? Do we need a man’s permission to travel or cover ourselves and walk around like a ghost with our heads covered? I bet if I asked my son who Stalin was that he would not be able to answer correctly.
Catholic women are the most repressed group of any religious group... Wow that's truly bizarre. As a catholic woman, I'm wondering what the professors argument for that theory is
YOU are responsible for not filling in the "gaps"! Parents are the MOST INFLUENTIAL teachers a child or youngster will ever be exposed to! It is YOUR MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY as a parent! Absolutely nothing except their physical well-being is more important, and then just barely! DO IT NOW! As long as you are alive you are responsible.
Many people in my class don't even know what state is north of them and many can't do basic math plus most of them don't understand anything about history(high school).
My schooling was 1960s-70s and in History and Social Studies, Communism was definitely discussed but I wouldn't say that even then it was in-depth. That said, there was a lot of knowledge and information that we all shared in common from our parents and just general awareness of what happens in the world. By the time we heard about it in school, most of us already had a fair idea of what that was all about. Fast forward to 2002. I found myself having to learn a new line of work OJT. I get paired with a kid who was 23 at the time and about 40 years old now. He had a tattoo on his shoulder of a man running with a hatchet in his hand. This was a culture thing amongst young folks for a while. Related to a pair of white rappers I believe. The face on the tattoo was distinct and could not be mistaken for anyone else. It was Vladimir Lenin. I asked him if he knew who the face was and he replied he had no clue. He didn't know who Lenin was and even less of what he represented. Somewhere there are other old people like myself laughing to themselves about that kid's tattoo.

@@Hoggdoc1946 i want to step in on that one. Theres a fine line with that comment. Housing is outrageous, healthy food is also too costly, regulations and poor housing limit everything. Jobs with poor wages or salaries also have a factor in this. One should always strive for better, however the limitations and discriminations between all play rolls. I hold an example being pure white in a town full of texmex. Jobs here are scarce and low paying. Yes, i could leave the area for better work. I shouldnt have to relocate. My cost of living will also increase for the area i move too making the better job, the same job at the same pay. @@brandoncaldwell95 "Yes, i could leave the area for better work. I shouldnt have to relocate." . Interesting comment. The entire United States was populated by people who believed that relocating would bring them increased economic opportunity. I've read the Bill of Rights and the US Constitution, and nowhere in there does it say anything about a US Citizen being entitled to a standard of living that permits them to never have to move. Markets grow and shrink. We all have to make decisions that optimize opportunity. . If your thesis is true, then no one should ever have to move away from high cost of living places. That would be tantamount to rent-control, which almost every economist (even the Leftists) agree is a failed policy for many reasons. I'd rethink that position and see what all the ramifications are.

I believe that the begging of the end of our education system occurred when the Dept. of Education was created and the federal government got their claws into the system with such things as standardized testing. We all went to the same school, just a different generation of teachers except 2-3. When my kids attended the same school it was eye-opening how things had changed. Common core curriculum had me learning all over again, and it made no sense. Math was ridiculous in how complicated they had made finding an answer to a simple equation. I'd ask the teachers what difference does it make how they came up with the answer as long as it was right? Oh that's not how we do it now was thier response. I left parent teacher conferences shaking my head in disbelief lol they take a equation you can solve in seconds and now it takes 5min!

My definition of success is to set an attainable goal and to accomplish it, plain and simple. Whether you have a bunch of short term goals to chip away at a long term goal, or if you are looking at milestones- as long as you are defining a purpose to your action, you can feel more value in your effort. There are certain things that you can make goals, and they can be attainable, but they're not always ones for you to be adamantly looking for, because you my create a commitment that you may later regret because you saw the opportunity and rushed into it thinking it was the right thing to do.
Great points you make as always. One should never compare themselves with other. Maybe your neighbors live in a nicer house and drive a nicer car. But there will always be some one with more than you unless you're the richest person on earth. We also should not compare ourselves with those with less than we have. No one is better than some one because they have more money etc. Otto looks so peaceful and content. Maybe we should all take a lesson from Otto.
When I was 9 yrs old, my father and I watched The World at War on Sunday nights. I caught a glimpse of the horrors committed by totalitarian/socialist regimes. It was then I realized how great it was to be an American in America.
It takes a special kind of wisdom to boil down the complexities of life into simple concepts such as good and evil. It is that simple. Bless you sir, thank you all.
I'm a millennial and i grew up in a communist/socialist country (somewhere in Asia). My parents were party members until they retired ( it's not obligate but you won't get any manager positions in a government department unless you join the party). Your life is not much different from what we have here in US: No such a thing is free lunch, if you sick get in line unless you pay for private clinic. Here are the differences: 1. Don't say anything in public that against Party's ideology or methodology or you will be fined/imprisoned. All publication must be reviewed and approved by the Party media department. More often sex scene and fighting will be cut off from US movie which is a good thing for kid when they turn on TV, but also anything that portrait how bad the economy/policy/brutality of communist will be censored. 2. Corruption is more prevalent because bribery is part of the business deal let alone the government departments. They often acts with authority to refuse to provide access/services/contract if you don't play by their book. 3. When crisis arrived like covid19 or border state conflict, martial order is implement. It's can be really effective but don't expect your privacy and rights. Your neighbors WILL spy on you and notify authority if you failed to self-quarantined. One good thing is rioting and looting will be dealt with IMMEDIATELY and SEVERELY. Peaceful protest will be limited by some area, and often have state agent infiltrated to monitor the activities. 4. No gun allow by private citizen, not a big deal but i need to mention because bad guy DO have a gun although not a lot (about 10% of the crime involved gun). 5. Religious activities are allowed as long as they don't contradict Party's agenda. 6. Quality control is not good since their FDA/EPA equivalent counterpart aren't effective. You will see air pollution in big cities (so be prepare to wear mask all the time covid or not), fake produces and meats are common. 7. High income tax rate and VAT (value added tax) as well as extra taxes for some specific import item: car, phone, etc. So all in all: if you like to be told what to do, you'll be fine. If you like to be wealthy, being smart and working hard are not enough. You will need agree with everyone fast if you want to fit in. So i think if US citizens want to live in communist/socialist country, they should come visit and give it a try at least for half year or so. I prefer that they don't turn America into one because i value the freedom here in US. That being said, I still like to go back to visit family and vacations.

Like Dave Rubin, I also read "1984" in the 11th grade (which for me was in 1981). It was required reading in my literature class along with Orwell's "Animal Farm". And while many people find today's society as analogous to "1984", to me it's more of an amalgamation of "1984" AND "Animal Farm".

For 2 years I have been studying history and the horrors of Communism and Socialism. I am going into 9th grade, and now am realizing that history is repeating itself. It is really sad. I once had a teacher who asked, "What is the problem with socialism?" That same teacher was fighting against the Soviet Union at protests, but once it fell the ideas of Marxism fell into favor with our schools and now kids are being brainwashed by it. The leaders of BLM are Marxist, and yet people post all about how the movement is so good when it just destroyed many businesses and people. These are very sad times. Soon enough, the entirety of America will be brainwashed into thinking that America is bad and be generally demoralized. When a defector from the KGB, Yuri Andropov, said his warning message, demoralizing a nation and or making it believe it is bad is a stage into turning it into a Communist state. And Communist states were pure evil. It seems like the only people who have learned the lesson on Communism and Dictatorship being bad are some of the ex-soviet countries, who had to learn the hard way that Communism does not do good. And so will America have to learn the hard way eventually, if the left keeps supporting Socialism and Communism.
Another great video … equally in the UK … our education system is dysfunctional … and educators are unfit to change it … because they are uneducated … our problem in the UK … and I’m sure the US and the West … is that we mistake vocational training for education … vocational training produces lawyers, nurses, programmers, and the like … which is important … however education is something totally different … it is about good character, the capacity to discern right from wrong, amongst other things … and with 6 years at an academic Western university … the word discretion or reason was not mention once … not once … so it can be no wonder our Western nations are so very lost …
#3 is completely untrue. If you are in a big city, people care less but if you are anywhere else in the US, college is a huge deal. Unless you want to work at a car wash.
I am an immigrant from a communist country. When I in high school in the U.S.A. I was excited because I had "Communism vs. Democracy" class. I told my parents about it. My father was SO UPSET he said, "What!? They are teaching you ABOUT COMMUNISM!? I want to speak to your teacher and see what movies they are showing you!!!!" My father met with my Prof and watched the movie. He was impressed with the horrific movie we saw about communism in my class. He never requested another meeting. Communism IS EVIL. All those that are for it, should be given a one-way ticket to any of the communistic countries. They will miss their freedom, freedom of speech, freedom of thoughts, freedom of faith, freedom of food, freedom from required military service for several years, freedom from leaving that communis country. Their is NO FREEDOM IN COMMUNISM. NONE!
