I have been running these tires on a nissan pathfinder 4x4 for 6 months. I live in new hampshire. We had alot of snow this year and I have to say these tires are the best hands down. Even the ice we hit just shredded the ice. We also drive these tires in rain and are fantastic. Yet the only thing I'm waiting on is heat. I think these tires are a little soft and friction will take the tread off quickly. But I don't want these tires off. I'm buying a second pair and storing away.
Thanks for the review...I have the same impression coming from Goodyear WeatherReady tires. These are definitely more "cushy". I got them for the snow so I look forward to testing them in those conditions.
The first thing I noticed about these tires is their excellent traction in heavy rain. They also have an incredible braking ability on a rain slick road surface. I haven't tried them in snow yet.
Snow is coming soon!!!!!! I will do another review when the snow starts to accumulate. I had an AWD car before with at tires that were sever snow rated. So I am curious to how good these will be with FWD. These tires should be a little better then the AT tires I had.
@@ggsdude1 These tires are awesome in the snow. I could get through snow last year that AWD vehicles were struggling. I have a video of them in snow also.
After my last set of tires (I think they're Nokian All Weather, and the cheapest, like $105 each in late 2017) I am sold on All Weather tires. Mind you I don't put many KM a year on my car. Late 2017, I have had a slow leak in my front driver side tire for at least 1.5 years, I need to put air in every 2 weeks ($2 a pop), then it was 1 week, now we are down to 5 days and another slow leak in one rear tire, so I finally decided today, after airing the tire this morning before work, it's time for new tires. I went for the Firestone Weather grip. I am the one who uses only one set of tires. I used to drive All Season tires, even during the winter, which can be nuts up in Northern Ontario, but I'm a good driver and I got by. Until I tried a set of All Weather tires. They're amazing. BIG difference in snow and ice. They really only started to feel like All Weather tires, not working well this past winter. They weren't any good but All Weather tires are awesome for someone like me. I do not want the BS of changing and storing a set of tires when the season changes. I don't even rotate my tires. Hopefully the Firestone, which are not the cheapest tires you can buy (like usual with me) are decent.
Thanks for this review. I think I will stick with the Micheline Crossclimate 2 All Weather tires again for my second vehicle since it is super quiet, comfortable, stable, hardly feeling the bumps on the road and excellent in rain or even heavy snow as I did not have to install the X-Ice 3 tires on the first vehicle again this past winter in Canada.
Exactly, even snow tires aren’t good in ice. But these tires are great in the snow. I can go through 8” of snow in my fwd car with them. My car has 5.5” of ground clearance.
I ran across your video while shopping for all weather tires for my Honda Clarity and it looks like you're driving one too! I'm going with the General Altimax 365 for tires but I'll subscribe to your channel.
Just got these on my Pontiac Vibe. It rains alot here in Oregon. And snow is expected for next week. So these should do me well. As long as these keep me alive. And don't blow out. They're good in my book. But it was quite expensive, it was 133$ per tire. 😕 But my life is worth more than that!
Let me know how they are in the snow. Still haven’t got anymore since that one day. Heck I wish mine were $133 a tire, my size they were $215 a tire. I just hope I get 50k miles out of them.
@@EverydayCars oh dang. I got 205/55/R16. But I'll be sure to update in about a week or 2. Also planning a trip from PDX to SLC in mid January so I'll also have a large roadtrip to safely drive. Fingers crossed.
Just purchased for my older Prius we have with 240k miles, and initially I really like the way the drive, more comfortable over road imperfections and have been great in the snow, Got them On sale now for $57 / tire. At tire rack
Wow that’s a really great price!!!! If you think those ride soft try the Bridgestone WeatherPeak next they’re even softer. Haven’t had enough snow to properly compare them. They’re very similar in the snow from what I can tell.
I just purchased a set of these for my 2005 pontiac grand prix Sedan and so far I'm happy. We're getting rain in my area tomorrow so thatll put them to the test. But dry conditions they're great with a smooth ride and handling is good with them. They do feel softer around the turns though and I've noticed my car rides "softer" even with my FE2 Stock suspension on the GT trim for my car. Not bad but I do want to see what they're capable of in the snow.
👍👍 thanks for this. I also have read reviews about how loud the CrossClimate 2s can be but it’s not even an option in my tire size 215/60 r17 Yeah my current tires would have just kept spinning during that acceleration you showed in this video lol
My one year old CC2 is very quiet, comfortable, excellent in straight or coring even in heavy rain as well as excellent in snow/wet snow/slush as I had no need to put the X-Ice 3 back on this past snow season in Canada. They just announced the Crossclimate 2 SUV starting in 17" size so maybe they will have the size you need now.
Firestone is a good tire 🛞. Bridgestone owned them now. I use Firestone All Season Tire not Much Snow ❄️ here at Las Vegas Nevada. No need for me winter 🥶 tires. All season Is Good in the desert 🌵. Or If I’m a tight budget. I purchased Lionhart LH
@@EverydayCars That would be great when you do test them in the snow. I'm looking to buy these tires within the next month. Right now I'm driving on Michelin premier LTX, once they wear I will make the switch.
Lol, yea they make a little noise. It doesn’t bother me because it’s quieter than the cupped tires I replaced. And it’s about the same noise as the all terrains that were on my Explorer. I can’t wait to test these tires out in the winter ❄️. we’re you considering another all weather tire besides the Firestone?
@@EverydayCars well, you can't go wrong with big brand tires like crossclimate, weatherready, wrg4, etc. Firestone was cheaper when I bought them and then the price went up by $35/ea just one week later. Now Firestone officially becomes a member of expensive brands club. I still have Kumho HA31 all-weather tires bought last year on my sedan and they were really good, but don't last long. One of them is almost bald after only 28k km. Kumho HA31 is as soft as a winter tire. Weathergrip is harder. Never tried other all-weather tires so can't say much, but Goodyear Weatherready is really hard(checked at Canadian Tire), almost like a 4-season tire. Maybe next time maybe I'll try General or Radar or Toyo... Or maybe just wait for another sale season. Let's wait for the snow first.
Are the noise from these tires loud? Got these for my mom’s camry and we live in Wisconsin where there will be snow and she’s concern that it’ll be too loud in dry road. I told her that I’s rather have her have some good tires that can combat the snow and perform well in the summer.
That was a concern of mine also. I just did a 900 mile round trip this week and going 85 mph they were still pretty quiet. Definitely not as quiet as a regular all season. More of like driving a 90,s car where there is some noise but nothing overwhelming.
