Literally the only internet video I’ve seen yet that explains firewalls in depth. Thank you, Sunny. I look forward to watching your videos before I take my CompTIA security+ exam!
Sunny sir, Best online tutor i'hv ever seen so far..... Requesting you to provide a class on how the traffic flows from external to internal and what happens at each stage (devices).
Don't mind me just making myself some notes: Private Networks/intranet are protected by several network security devices: firewalls, proxy servers, DMZs, IPS, IDS Firewall functions (protection of the network) - Port filtering: allows or denies incoming/outgoing traffic based on source or destination application by opening or closing ports -MAC filtering: allows/denied traffic based on the source or destination device - IP filtering: allows/denies outgoing/incoming traffic (packets) based on IP address of IP range - Content filtering: allows/denies traffic based on keywords, by matching strings of characters Port numbers - refer to a certain application MAC address - refer to a certain hardware/device. Unique identifier of a device placed on a NIC. It never changes IP address - refers to a certain network Dynamic/Stateful firewalls - traffic is allowed based on what previous traffic has passed through the firewall as already Port 80 - web applications Port 25 - email applications
Many thanks for your encouragement. I will do my best. I hope my videos are helpful to understand some networking concepts. Happy New Year to you. Sunny.
I just started watching your videos, you're really amazing. I love the way you teach and explain using some diagrams. looking forward to watch the other videos. thank you
The animation is superb; very carefully and intelligently done to convey the message clearly, which matches with your explanations. Very smart indeed! Keep it up, Sir.
Hello Sunny, many thanks for sharing this wonderful video. All the parts are clear to me except the dynamic filtering . In technical sense , how is firewall rule configured for dynamic filtering ?
@@sunnyclassroom24 Hi, Sunny, what is the difference between gateway and firewall?I am confused about the concept of gateway, Does gateway have different categories, such as packet filtering gateway, application proxy gateway, Circuit-level gateway or gateway and filtering gateway are different concept? Please:)
@@ShuyanStoryTeller you are correct. Gateway is very confusing because it is used in many different situations. Gateway is by definition, on the edge of a local area network or a domain. It can refer to a router, or a bridging device connecting to an external network. This device can be anything (firewall, router, or server). I totally agree with you. It would mislead you or confuse you if I try to explain to you.
Sir, I have watched all your videos. You have done a great job which understand the concept very easily. Could you please provide more information or make video on Transparent Firewall
Thank you.. Im preparing for my interview and all the network, seemed for me like a big mess.. And then i found your videos.. Clean, nice and easy to understand.. Thank you for making these.. Xie xie Lao Shi ( i hope i wrote it correctly, im really grateful :))
