I heard a tale about a young man who was a tree walker, feller, one-handed cutting star. He dreamed of truck improvements after repairs in the rain. A North Western fellow who has the heart of a true mountain man.
I bet all the Midwest and East coast firewood guys are jealous of how easy it is to split softer wood by hand compared to Oak which requires a thousand dollars machine to split.
Nothing is more freeing than calling your own shots. I’ve been self employed at least 20 years. Keeping employees was part of me having a heart attack.
God Bless you Gill and Jane! I have shoulder problems myself but I am pretty sure it isn't from my Fiskars, but dangit David you got me a thinking and a little concerned. I need to refinish the handles on Grandads Double bitters then. Love when you can one hander the saw myself, that's when you know that chain is dialed in and razor sharp. Sorry I am still behind on videos, I am working six days a week instead of 3 or 4 but at least I am pulling in more money at least. I put off going to the dentist for too long now I am looking at getting a bunch of root canals and crowns done. So good to see you back on the stump, not that I dislike the trapping and shed hunting videos but something about power saws seems to help me calm down. Nice load as usual, stay safe out there buddy!
I used to lime the fiscars till i picked up a nice wood handle axe atba yard sale. Used it a lot and for some reason grabbed the fiscars one day and notice it seems to send a shock wave through your arms. Handle just has no give to it.
Hi David , it’s funny you say that about the fiskers , I cut the hooks off my two and used epoxy to glue wood dowels in the plastic handles . I didn’t like the hooks either with my bad shoulders . Take care, be safe Joe
Time to get a gas wood splitter that mounts on the trailer hitch. Shoulder pain can only get worse. Looked like spring breakup. Won't see many loggers out there.
Hey buddy I would say ya got to much muscle and those dang fiskers are so light I have one and it's hollow so I filled it with some solid stuff and it helped with the shock and vibrations that ya don't feel tell the next day lol.. love the videos wish I had that kinda fire wood getting spots u do.. love it be safe out there
You and Kellsie are workers. Enjoy your videos. I've had 5 toyotas. I have a 2015 and a 98, at our age a tacoma is all my wife and I can do in a day getting wood
Or is she just revn high ? Cuts good maybe alil high on the high jet? I love watching you and learning is why I ask. I'm getting into saws more and more and would love to come watch you. And learn some things. I'm down here in ne oregon and am trying to learn and get into it more. There's something about saws and small engines and engines period that gets me out of my head and just let's me be. Im a self taught mechanic and love it all.... thanks for what you do and the content you provide man I really appreciate it.
thank you I always thought that hook on the friska would bother me. And cutting with one hand is the way I show others to test to see if your chain is sharp and I also started convincing more and more people here in centra Pennsylvania to go with longer bars for firewood. 20" is way to short. I'm 5'5 and the 28" is perfect. Thank you for the educational info you have been giving me. thank you
Heck if i where closer id help ya out with some mechanics and do some maintenance on ur work horses. I love doing it and helping friends. Again thanks for the content man
I just need a shop majorly!!! The place we are renting sucks because I don’t even have a driveway really to work on stuff and I can’t leave tools out because of druggies walking by all the time. Hopefully soon we will be out of town and be able to have my shop and work on rigs! Then I will do full tear downs and rebuild from ground up
