The Oak Mountain Acotts are trying to debottleneck their firewood manufacturing process and remove some frustrations! They add a dust blower to the sawdust chute of the Hakki Pilke Raven 33 firewood processor and power it with the Honda 7000es inverter generator. You can also see the Kranman hydraulic timber trailer in action as it loads the log table!

Jason I run a hakki pilke easy 38 and use the garbage can under the sawdust shoot. (3 big plastic cans per cord) I did have to put an extension onto the sawdust outlet. Just used some light tin. The easy 38 sawdust exit is angled down which prevents plugging. I also removed the 4 metal bars in the shoot. Chris

I have a thought to use a small air compressor to help with the chip collection- not quite sure how to plumb it yet… and like you, I’d need to run a generator too, not crazy about that idea. My trash can collection seems to be working ok for now. Thanks for the shout out again! :) Blessings, Jeff.

Stop throwing money away! Hopefully that got your attention. Please stop throwing that great gold away. You have found money that you are dumping on the ground. That sawdust can be used for chicken and animal bedding. You can bag it up and sell it for 20.00 a bag. What you can do is keep the blower and buy an old dumpster bin to blow in the sawdust. You can either sell it by the bag or bulk to farmers. Keep it dry and see the money fly in! Collect those dollars and that way you don’t have a liability you have an asset! Great video have a great day!!

Well that blower system you got there it's a lot better than a garbage can. Maybe you can make a board that it's up inside your discharge, with a 4-in hole that fits your tube, something that fills the shoot better. Create more vacuum. Just a thought. Keep up the great videos!

I agree with this. A nice tight fit would be better. It is surrounded by sawdust now and I put a bungee strap on it to hold it up nice and close to the saw. It is working really good... almost pull your ball cap through if you're not careful!

Ya ever think about using the sawdust and make pellets, out lay is a bit high, but you get a return on something you toss away. The other thing is you might want to cap the chute off and put a fitting on for the plastic hose,, so it has to suck from the cutter bar, and not be able to draw air from all around that way it makes a vacuum of sorts inthe chute
@OakMountainAcotts
@OakMountainAcotts 2 года назад
I haven’t looked into a pellet maker yet. I bet they are expensive! I’m going to try bagging some to see if there are any local buyers for hardwood chips… I built a wooden rack to hook the hose to that slides up in behind the cutter. The sides filled with sawdust and I have pretty decent vacuum!

What about putting the fan on a stand the level of the proceesor shute and running solid dryer vent pipe from the processor to the fan, that might stop the sawdust gathering in the flex pipe, anyway just a thought.
