Results can be found here: www.forestenergy.ie/firewood-storage-trial.php My summary: - the 25cm, split and covered reached the lowest water content during the trial period - When storing them in June with 40%, they can be below 15% by the end of September!! - After September the wood seems to absorb moisture again during the winter season. Bringing it inside could help here? - in general the shorter you cut them, the thinner you split them and the drier the place is for seasoning the better they dry, not exactly surprising stuff. - The non-covered ones do not dry that much worse than the covered ones, I'm surprised... Just a few % difference...
Really cool. Lost a lost of weight quickly. Do you have data beyond the first month of seasoning? Is there a way to distinguish seasoning results between rounds / splits / lengths etc?
There are several components to creating an amazing design. One plan I discovered which successfully combines these is the Wilfs Shed Formula (check it out on google) definately the most helpful info that I have ever seen. look at this unbelievable site.
