Safety first!! Wish I could send you some of our rain.. we have been getting poured on for 2 weeks now... I am moving my show up to tomorrow because Sat, Sun, and Mon are supposed to be thunderstorms.... Man looking at that last rack REALLY shows how extreme some of those angles are!! I really need to get some of those waterfalls... I love the looks of it!! So much work goes into these shows... and I love doing it!! Days and days of work for 20 minutes of pure joy!
Safety first for sure! Talk about a hell of an update today that'll be discussed in the next part... Sounds like I will be postponing a week. I would do it on the 4th but have to travel for work unfortunately, so the weekend after is my only other solution. 70° was my most extreme :) Those type of shots are also why I need to be extra cautious. I could adjust those angles, but the effect I'm doing needs it to be low. All of this work for... 7.5 minutes.. lol, but it's totally worth it.

Good luck on your show. No lie, was at a local show 5 minutes ago, crew set a tree on fire, mid-show. Huge flames at least 30 ft. Shoot stopped. Fire Dept stepped in to put it out.
Hey Joel, if you wanted to use MJG/electric match for the Silver Dragon Saturn Missiles (for instant ignition) all you would have to do is remove the first missile from the battery (where the fuse comes into the cake) and then drop the MJG down into the "hole" where the vacant missile was. Something to think about for next time. ;)
First year going all in on a pyromusical. It's comforting to realize I had prepped most of my show the same way you have. I suppose there's only so many ways to do it but at least I know I'm not totally off in left field!
Lol right, but that is always reassuring to know you're not doing something totally wrong. It's funny because I like sharing this stuff too because people will comment and let me know if they found a better way, which helps me more too.
Precision of angles comment - saw a video (it might have been Bo) where the recommendation was to put the pool noodles on the bottom side of the effect since there’s a kick “up” towards vertical. Sounds reasonable I guess.
If you are in Texas, a burn ban is not a fireworks ban. A fireworks ban is a separate entity issued by the county. If your site is relatively fire safe and you have the VFD on hand, you can shoot fireworks with a burn ban in effect. In Texas.
I'm really interested in putting my own shows together, but very new to effects and what they mean. Do you have a video or series where you explain and show what the popular effects are? If not, could you make one?
A burn ban? 😢 That's not good. Here in Florida where I'm at, we been getting lots of afternoon, evening and night thunderstorms. That's also not good for the 4th. Hope we all get to light it up
Sorry man, it's crazy dry here in MN as well. A lot of shows are gonna get called off... and, the "authorities" are going to be muxh less likely to turn a blind eye on those of us shooting C product. 😢😡

I really like what they have done to push out new effects year after year. They also have really good integration. If I went full 76 Pro Line, I'd get the T-Lock initiators, the pyro llama racks that fit their no debris stuff etc. However, I also like to have a variety of brand options haha
My first thought was pulling in the local fire department for that purpose, but they are the ones that set the burn ban that specifically mentions fireworks lol
I don’t know about your state, but here in Texas even if there’s a burn ban that does not stop you from lighting fireworks most people think it does but it doesn’t the only way the state can stop you from lighting fireworks off. Is the governor announces it, and they only can do a 10 or 11 day hold. But every state is different.
This specific burn ban mentions fireworks. I know there will be people lighting up the sky regardless. The biggest issue with a show like mine is that at anytime there are 4-7 positions going off, so even if I paused the show on my firing system, you still got a lot of crap going on. Adds a lot of danger approaching a show mid way through without letting it cooldown too.
We have lots of rain coming between Saturday and the 4th, but my situation is a bit more complicated. I'll explain on the next video, but it sounds like we are pushing the show until next weekend
@@JoelRobinsonPyrotechnics damn, that stinks! Yeah I saw your picture of the downed power lines. We’ve been getting the smoke from Canada here in PA. Also a quite a few storms with downpours have kept grass green.
@@andyhedden1554 Glad it's still green your way! Yeah we had heavy smoke with air quality warning to not go outside. Ironically enough, that bad storm carried most of the smoke further East
I do all this by myself and live in a really small house with not a lot of space to do fireworks so I stocked up on 200 gram cakes some candles and 5 cases of 500 gram cakes which I might do all at once or should I make 5 different 1/1 cakes. I have to be careful and don’t want to much puke in the air
@@JoelRobinsonPyrotechnics it could be a lot worse this years show cost me a little over $1500. I’ve had worse and had better but this year I have to do it in a tiny area which is why I stocked up on a lot more 200 than 500g cakes. My little man will love the show so that’s all that matters to me. Can’t wait to see your insane show I’m already jealous. Keep kicking ass Joel

How early is too early to put canister shell in the tube because I don’t have them loaded just in case the weather decided to take turn in my state buffalo ny weather suck at moment
I feel you. I always do mine last to avoid them sitting loaded for too long. If you are loading in advance, make sure to cover the fuse with tape, foil, or similar and don't connect to an ignition source until show day. There isn't really a set answer on this. I know a lot of people do it well in advance, but personally it makes me nervous.
