In the Renaissance city of Florence, there is a tradition of celebrating the night of June 24th, the feast day of Saint John the Baptist, the patron saint of Florence, with fireworks at 10:00 PM from the famous panoramic spot of Piazzale Michelangelo. This year, due to a day of thunderstorms and unfortunate weather, the turnout was lower than usual.
