Doesn't quite work that way. The boy will certainly lose his scholarship but it's not sure when the team will rescind it. But if it gets pulled and a spot opened up, the new player would have to be a walk-on who has already gotten into that college. They would give this boy's scholarship to the walk-on later, only if that walk-on played really well next fall and earns it. College football season starts in less than two months so the scholarship spot can't be freely given away right now. If the scholarship is still free by the end of the season, it can be used next year's recruits or a transfer.
