If u say our New Year u r referring to the modern (Gregorian) calendar. Chinese New Year is based on Lunar (moon) calendar which is older than the modern calendar we are using..

@@kuyaradz26 Chinese New Year is based on the traditional lunisolar (Moon + Sun) Chinese calendar, not based on the Lunar (moon) calendar which is used by the Islamic calendar from people in the Middle East.

Chinese New Year is also called the Spring Festival and you can see that if you just look at the calendar the date of the Spring Festival is different from year to year but every year it falls at the beginning of spring
