Couldn't resist putting that through the sound system at home on full volume. Such a beautiful sound but still nothing like going to a drag meet and feeling your chest hurt as they go off the line.
@@TheCharillz23 That funny car runs on Alky! Though a hell of a lot more mild then nitro I guess it can still smell refreshing in the morning just like coffee. 😆
This is Steve Musser and Matt Vitko's Time Bomb Racing 1972 Vega bodied nostalgia funny car out of Lititz, PA. Veteran crew chief and driver Bob Toth leading the team here, Steve in the seat, new volunteer crew member Keith Decker learning the ropes, with Pop Musser and Chase Musser looking on. Most of that has to do with the idle check valve, but the barrel valve can be "tweeked" to clear some of that up when running . When you leak the system down properly, it is pretty close at first fire up.
Love the guys sweatshirt tuning..... !!!! Pirrone the legend!...... That young man with his ears covered, he's hooked! Thats the shit that changes lives and builds legends!
Love seeing an old school mid to late 70's short weelbase funny car.....probably doent have a computer or thottle stop . This is what they should ALL be running in nostalgia F/C
When I was a kid growing up in the 70’s, a guy in our neighborhood (I think his name was Billy Vance) had a fuel funny car he would sometimes work on in the driveway, and fire it up. That was just too cool! Especially for us kids!
Alcohol funny car!... LoL it's funny how the guy with the blue sweatshirt keeps touching things he's not supposed to and white hairs keeps shooshing him away like saying: "quit touching stuff"!! Blue sweatshirt knew that they were filming so he just wanted to look as if he knew what the hell he was doing in adjusting and fine tuning that blown Hemi. 😂🤣
Actually Mr. Whitehair doesn’t know as much as people state. He checked the timing and adjusted a return valve that works off pressure to take the lope out of the idle. Otherwise the rest is just warming up the engine and seating a clutch. Not actually that difficult. I guess if you run around and push people’s hands away you can impress some folks. Especially younger ones that are yet to learn.
ol buddy in the blue hoodie looks like hes fellings was hurt twice once when he said dont put your hand on there then again when the old man moved his hand away from messeing with something upfront......after that he looked to be in his fellings 🤣 we have all been there a time or 2 tho
I miss the slingshot days. These days it's whoever has the most sponsor money wins. These things were built by everyday people in their garages, and barns
For me, this kind of stuff is always cool to watch. But I couldn't tell if this is a top fuel car, or an alky. But the old man reminds me of Big Jim Dunn, and NOT because he looks like him. But if ya know Jim Dunn , you can see the similarities.
Insurance agent - Let me see if I have this straight, your vehicle fell off the racks in the driveway and a small tornado blew everything apart in the garage. Is that right? So why are there skid marks going away from your driveway for about 1/4 of a mile ?
