Our good buddy Mike "StreetSpeed717" just took delivery of his 2019 C7 ZR1 and we wanted to find out exactly how much it would put down.
His C7 Zr1 is also vin #4 which happens to be the only manual C7 ZR1 in the country. (Currently as of 3/29/2018)

The cutout in the hood for the supercharger cover is insane! Love what gm did with the styling to separate the zo6 and zr1. Simple and tasteful and still super aggressive

Frank Gumpert That's because Chevy dude beat him to the punch with 1st zr1 video,so he figured he would take a chance at trashing it to be the 1st to post a dyno video & he won,but at what expense,because you know this will be all over the web & there will no warranty approval if anything breaks. I hope nothing does,but these chevys are fragile compared to Ford's & there's no way I'm risking it in my new vette.

Back when I turned wrenches for GM it used to drive me nuts that awesome shops like RPM always got their hands on cool new stuff before I did. When the Gen4 F bodies came out I got sent to the GM training center in Missouri for them, they had LS's on stands but no cars, we got most of our training through freaking videos! Anyway, nice job RPM!!

The blower brick reminds me of the 1992 SLP Firehawk. The intake of that GM 350 was massive, and brick shaped. It's a prized part nowadays, and very rare to find. The '92 Firehawk's were limited to 5000 units all built by SLP who are no long gone, like dust in the wind. Fun Fact: Mercury Marine built the original LT5 of the C4 ZR1's. The design was part Lotus, and GM engineering. Again, only 5000 C4 ZR1's were made each model year run, '90-'95.

Jesus GM, you managed a dohc LT5 in the 90s for the zr1, you made a new LT5, but went back to a sohc setup, and you needed a blower. I miss when corvettes got the job done with n/a motors. The Ls7 was the last of the bad boys. And I wish that would have been the motor in the c6zr1, just worked out a bit more. Without the supercharger. But I guess once the forced induction trend starts, there no turning back, gotta join the rest of the sports cars these days.

17 is really low, don't get me wrong, but how much timing do these LS/LT motors like? These modern engines have an efficient combustion chamber. I wouldn't expect them to like as much as a gen 1 small-block. (To put it in perspective my 306 NA ford with high swirl heads likes 16 initial and ~40 total. (damper doesn't read that high). To those that would worry about that high of timing, leaning out the tune and putting the timing at so, picked up 2 tenths in the quarter and 1.5 mph)

665/640 wheel is closer to 800 crank if you assume 15% drivetrain loss - which makes sense, based on the conditions under which GM's figures are quoted at (a worst-case scenario). I GUARANTEE these engines are 900 with tuning and exhaust if they're dyno'd on a cold day.

Funny Mike guessed it dead on; I wonder if he'll really sell it in a month. Is it possible for gm to have programmed it to be so conservative until it's technically broken in? Numbers it put down make sense though for what it's rated at
