A 3 axle bus seems a bit overkill for a route like this. Why not an Enviro400? I know they use these in Hong Kong but the buses have to move vehicles full commuters, tourist across the an area the size of London all day.
There's two universities on the route so higher capacity is required. During the University Term the service can run up to every two minutes in the peak times with buses often rammed full.
