So surprising to me these sisters have been performing & recording incredible music for 7+ years and I'd never heard them or heard of them before this afternoon. Back in the 70's I was a card-carrying Emmylou fan club member. This interview is very enlightening.

Now I know they are ideological feministki, I like them MORE! What a great sisters and great musicians!

I know exactly what they were talking about in reference to behavior while in this band and the genre' of music they are in. I grew up in a band and was on stage by the time I was a week old. In folk/country music there is this wholesome image and it is pressured into women more than it is in men. I grew up hearing that you always have to smile and make sure the public doesn't know you're unhappy about anything. Always have good public relations. I wore ruffly dresses with cute pigtails until I was 13 because that was expected. And you do have to grow up fast when you're in a traveling band. There were things that I saw when I was little that no little girl should ever see.

is it me or does anyone else think these interviewers are loud and awful the girls certainly do and they are having difficulty not showing it !
