First attempt reviewing the Karcher PC20 pipe and gutter cleaner

I got this pipe and gutter cleaning set since I our gutter has been leaking a bit which does damage the outside plaster of our house a bit.
So before fixing the plaster I first wanted to address the gutter problem - it turns out either our K2 Kärcher is either not powerful enough for this tool or we had a problem with the water supply - also the unique design of our gutter leads to a little part where the gutter cleaner does not fit so we only could test it partially.

I don't know if it had any effect on the smooth movement of your hose, but I think the hose is supposed to be threaded through the bracket mount OVER the yellow pulley that is clearly visible in your video at 6:36 and not under it. I also wonder if it would make any difference if the sides of the shuttle were cut away so that it could have a lower profile, allowing it to pass under the tiles?

I have a thing called the Clog Hog that I have used to clean out sewage and drain pipes. it works with my power washer. Very similar to your item but I haven't used it on gutters yet. We are having a new roof installed soon and after that I can try the Clog Hog on the gutters.

Luckily we don't have too many trees nearby so that one is the only one which gets dirty.

As I would understand the gutter should be half to two thirds lapping. You have almost nothing so the water would naturally cascade over the top of this. Its a bad angle to see if this is correct. Maybe its possible that the lower tiles have shifted down. I dont think its so bad a tool for all situations but maybe its expensive to add a baton to move out your gutter another 2cm.

One (or a couple) of the tiles has sunken down a little bit so there is not enough space for the device to fit under them - now all that time later you can see really well how far it went so it did a good job till there. I´m just thinking I might could dremel off a couple mm on the bottom to make it fit... best as long as the neighbors are still not using their balcony! :D

You could have tried using the nozzle only (on the end of the high-pressure hose) WITHOUT the shuttle and tied/wired it to your garden hosepipe to shunt it along to the awkward part. Otherwise, it seems to work OK. A good review nonetheless.

... and also. I had a similar issue with the PC20 - it snagged on the tiles. See my gripe here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ggmk9arg3gA.html . In the end I used the garden hose only and "shunted" it along the gutter from one end of the gutter to the other end (about 10 metres). One does need a good pressure to do this and a squirty nozzle though (I used a regular Hozelock fitting) .

I brought this for the drain cleaner pipe only. The gutter parts are not very useful imo and I will probably bin them. You don't need super clean gutters, you just need them clear. Even the official video for this product did not show it working correctly. Too much effort for too little gain. Its a shame I couldn't buy the pipe on its own.

Some people criticized that the pipe cleaner has no forward facing water stream it might be safer through.

@@kunicross Yes i'm surprised the didn't include a nozzle for this. I could have done with this as i was having to jet from the highest level but the back firing nozzle is better for starting at the lowest level. I have just used mine today and successfully managed to clear a very stubborn blockage. I was also amazed that i was able to feed this 15 meters into bending pipes. Very impressed with this tool.

The thing is too big. It will get stuck as the gutter rises to the far end.

I bought this. But not for gutters just for the simple drain hose. The gutter part looked really complicated and it seems so in your video. I plan to use a wet vac for the gutters. But I live in a one storey bungalow! The drain hose works okay and can save calling in a professional. I saw on other videos where they drilled a hole in the top of the nozzle. I copied this! Re the hose. Stretch it out in the sun for a while pinned down by rocks or any heavy objects and it will remove the coils.
