This video is about three one-month-old kittens we rescued. Their first human interactions involved a lot of hissing, spitting, and even some biting out of excitement and fear. We share their growth and gradual transformation into domestic cats.

Is Maru a girl? She(?) looks a bit like it, because of her(?) fur colors.

Indeed, Maru turned out to be a boy, contrary to our initial belief. Calico male cats are incredibly rare, with their odds said to be around 1 in 3,000. At the time, we assumed Maru was a female due to his coat color and named him accordingly. Thankfully, in Japan, the name Maru can be used for both boys and girls, so it worked out well. You're absolutely right - with his coat color and facial features, he does look like a female kitten!
