A buddy of mine just got a new bike, and he needed someone to ride it home. Luckily that was me! Really fun to ride, torque for days, and generally relaxing.
First cruiser I've ever ridden, and actually pretty fun. However I'll always want my supersport :)

I LOVE my VS1400 !! Yes, it is Very different from a sport bike... but you are right that it is GREAT on winding country roads... But, because of the torque, it is remarkably Quick! But top end is about 120 mph or so... And those are the perfect bars for that bike. I added a small, contoured windscreen that just breaks up the wind around my face and chest, and that is all I need for just about any conditions.

Those bars are horrible, the pull back drag bars on the newer models are 1000% better.

@@tomrc4328 bought my first bike ever 3 yrs ago from my neighbor, a 1400, love the original drag bars , not sure I would ever change them, although if i did, i would go with apes. DOnt like the bars this one has.

As a guy who spent quite a lot of time on a CB 750 Nighthawk, I gotta say I love cruisers. On a sports bike, you are over the centre of gravity. On a cruiser, you _are_ the center of gravity. Makes the ride so much smoother, and more forgiving at lower speeds.

My 92 has over 30,000 and appears and operates as new. My mileage is spread over multiple machines so the low miles is a byproduct. It is a superbly built motorcycle and mine glitters in tasteful genuine Suzuki accessories. Suzuki R- 9000 motor oil makes them silky smooth.

Great bikes torque is nice change the oil as per manual hydraulic clutch, decompression easy start, oil filled rear cylinder keeps it cool easy to work on not a sports bike but great long stroke motor

Hey! Idle in your vs1400 is VERY high! Set it ~900-1000 rpm, but clean and sync carbs before.

I noticed this as well, do you know where the idle adjustment is located at?

Look for manual. Idle adjuster located at right side of rear carb. №23 on this pic: www.motorcycleinstitute.tk/suzuki-vs1400-intruder/images/5487_115_529.jpg Be careful, sync upsets very easily.

@@NotAMotoVlog I've taken one down a dirt road in the backwoods to cut throw a mountain instead of spending 10x as long to go around. But in all actuality it might have ended up being slower because of how slow I went to insure I didn't drop it

i know its old vid, but did that thing have a headlight? lol.. looked like just the markers reflecting off the road... i have a 98?(i think)1400 intruder with light bar, headlights are great, but didnt look much light at end of vid when you were getting into night time..??

I like the handle bar trim - I seem to notice the risers are slightly bent backwards - far better than stock I reckon - any idea of the specs of both risers and bars ?

@@NotAMotoVlog agreed with the gear, but with only 3 yrs riding, this was my first bike and have not yet gone down. I still watch bike safety vids to not get complacent. Great starter bike. Just take your time as those 600 lbs can be heavy holding it up, specially in slow or u turns. Ride safe.

Really depends on how it's been taken care of. My R6 has 55,000 miles on it now and still runs like a champ. But I service it often, and have done both scheduled valve adjustments myself. It's a case by case basis really

55K on a crotch rocket is crazy high mileage! They usually need a rebuilt before 50K but it's all about maintenance and most importantly, how the bike was ridden. Most supersports are revved a lot and ridden hard. Cruisers and touring bikes just get putted and freeway ridden so they typically go twice as long between rebuilds, at the very least.

well no shit sherlock; your CBR makes 100+ hp at the wheel & weighs 400l bs? The Intruder weighs 577 lbs & makes 59 hp. It's a cruiser, it's not meant to travel at 100 mph all day
