This video was supposed to show baling first cut 2023 while using the new to us Steffens 1550 18 bale on edge accumulator. The video was cut short due to technical difficulties with the accumulator(wiring issues that were resolved, but the GoPro battery died so didn't video anymore). The baler worked perfect as always. The accumulator has 1 major inconvenience--in smaller fields we couldn't follow a windrow around a corner while baling without pinching or dropping a bale during the pivot. Other than that it worked great. We used a Kuhns 618 grapple to load out of the field and the bales on edge stacked and hauled very well. Shortly after finishing first cut we came to terms with the lack of help to stack small square bales and made the decision to trade the Massey Ferguson 1840, Steffens 1550, and Kuhns 618 in on a like new 2021 John Deere 450M round baler. Videos to come of first baling with that machine, it'll be a learning curve and most likely entertaining for those of you that round bale often.
