I play this game at work on my laptop everyday. Ive had the game for about a week now. The game is so addicting, and for it having such simple mechanics the game can be very technical and rounds can last a good 2-3 minutes if playing against a good player. I play AAA titles for the most part, but i can assure you if this game had 3 things it would be big; Online PVP, Unlockable in game content, and some kind of lore. However the game is a gem regardless and i cant wait to see where it goes.
Oh yea, this game is really good! The gameplay is so smooth and enjoyable!! Online PVP, Unlockabled and Lore are such a good idea. Would be so cool, if something like that would be on steam. I just checked the itch.io site of Final Cut and the dev says, that hes working on a new version with improved graphics and stuff. Another game which has different similarities is Hellish Quart. Maybe You already know it? store.steampowered.com/app/1000360/Hellish_Quart/ It's like Final Cut, but in 3d. Sadly it crashed on my PC. Need to try again later.
I wish this game was more developed in gameplay like Nidhogg. Nidhogg 2 was just such a disappointment for me. This art direction and dueling system was what I was hoping for a Nidhogg sequel. Arcade game modes with realistic duels.
If you make this game at all like the original Nidhogg I would total buy it. Super cool concept, just needs a tiny bit more to make it a full game. Couldn’t be a better game to play lan with my friends.
Check out "Hellish Quart" on steam. It's like this game, but in 3d and much more complexe. Also has a playable demo. I only played the demo so far, but I already like it.
There is strategy, lots too. If you know how sword combat works, but I can see how it would seem like that if the bot difficulty is too low or you’re playing against someone inexperienced. If you go against someone with real skill however, that’s where the sword flailing stop working entirely.
if this game had a narrative and was open world like Fallout 1 and 2 shit, where you walk around and explore and discover until there's a battle, then drop into the gameplay from this video.. that'd be awesome..
