Join us on our incredible first day exploring the vibrant and bustling Fisherman’s Wharf area of San Francisco! We kicked off our adventure with a visit to the fascinating Musee Mecanique, a captivating museum filled with vintage arcade games and mechanical marvels. Seeing these historical treasures and playing some of the old-school games was a nostalgic and unique experience that transported us back in time.
While immersing ourselves in the retro charm of Musee Mecanique, we faced an unexpected challenge as Lost Girl experienced a type 1 diabetic low. Thankfully, we were prepared and managed the situation smoothly, ensuring she quickly recovered and was ready to continue our exploration.
Our next stop was the iconic Pier 39, where we fully immersed ourselves in the lively atmosphere. The highlight of our visit was witnessing the sea lions at the wharf, and to our amazement, we were there on a record-setting day for the most sea lions ever spotted in the area! Watching these playful creatures bask in the sun and interact with each other was an unforgettable sight.
As we strolled along Pier 39, we took the time to enjoy various attractions, including delightful shops and charming eateries. We were also captivated by a talented street performer who entertained the crowd with his impressive skills and charismatic personality, adding a touch of magic to our day.
To wrap up our fantastic day at Fisherman’s Wharf, we dined at Pier Market, a renowned seafood restaurant known for its fresh, locally-sourced dishes and welcoming ambiance. The delicious food and picturesque views of the bay made for a perfect ending to our first day in San Francisco.
