OK wow, I absolutely love that you set up a first day surprise for homeschooling. that is awesome and what a way for a child to feel completely included ♥️
When my kids were young 2 weeks before school started I put strict bedtimes back and I'd gradually moved wake up time up till we were at the time they would have to be up for school. That method I found works so well. My mom never did that and I always felt horrible the first week of school.
So cool to see Anne of Green Gables. This story was set in Prince Edward Island which is about 800 KM or 20 hours away from where I live in Newfoundland Canada. Hope Shaylee had a great first day back to school!!
This brings back so many happy childhood memories! I first read “Little Women” around 4th/5th grade and to this day Louisa May Alcott is one of my heroes. And I can remember watching “Anne of Green Gables” with Megan Follows with my grandmother. ❤️Your daughter will love those books!
Watching this is kinda bittersweet for me, I did homeschool our two boys, but our youngest graduated last year. It’s a lot of work, but so rewarding. You’ve got this! Enjoy these times.💕
I’m so glad to see you homeschooling again! We are going into year 2 in September as well and I couldn’t be more excited! It’s comforting to know that someone I feel connected to is right there with me! You two got this! ❤️❤️
I 100% agree with doing the math first thing! As a former public school teacher and now homeschool mom of six (going on seven) years, get the subject that bogs them down the most done first thing. Her brain will be fresh, she'll be able to get it out of the way, and it is so much easier to wiggle all those other, easier classes in while you are fixing meals, driving to meetups, etc.
I wish my daughter was younger....I would TOTALLY be home schooling along with you and Shaylee. There are such neat things to help with home schooling out there.
I love all your book selections for Shaylee🤩🤩🤩 5th grade literature is what really lit my fire for reading (I was a struggling reader and my mom pulled me out and homeschooled me for 2yrs- 5th-7th. Wonderful memories 🥰) Praying you have a wonderful school year🙏🏻
Your gravy always looks so good! I'm glad the first day of 5th grade went so well 😃 The first day is always so exciting! It looks like your off and running smoothly 👏🏻
Perfect timing - heading to Costco this AM! We save so much money by doing a monthly shop there, even as a family of currently only 2. It can absolutely make sense for smaller families as well :)
Love the book report idea! This would have been awesome back when I was homeschooling. There is so much to access now then there was when my kids were younger. Love it. Gluten free bakery goods? 👏💕Our bakery has very little to choose from and you have to preorder, so I rarely get to enjoy a delicious desert.
I can't believe how organised and efficient you are, especially with adhd! My partner has adhd, he finds that gatorade helps him a lot , just like your mixers!
Not a morning person here either lol Homeschooling is perfect bc it’s not a rush right away in the morning. We have a 50/50 split in our family 3 pop tarts (wake up and pop up right away) and 3 omelettes (slower to wake up). We are entering into our second year of homeschooling. I’m excited and less nervous thankfully
I went to Costco today and got those Science sticker and activity books. I got both kinds they had and they will be a fabulous supplement to our science units this year. They will also be review of topics we have already covered. They look like SOOO much fun!!! Thank you for recommending them!
Ive been homeschooling for 5 years and weve always done year round homeschooling so we really never stop school. But man when they start the back to school sales theres a new feeling in the air with some nice fresh school supplies lol
Love watching your videos! I know you deal with anxiety. What do you take to help you? My anxiety is on over load and I am having a lot of trouble sleeping and working because of it. Thanks!
I LOVE that you call it gravy!!! My Italian family always called it gravy when there is meat in it and marinara if there’s no meat! I love all of your videos!
Hey Kimmy, I need that sticker book that has the school breaks in it. Could you please tell me which pack those are in! I can seem to find it. I love how you adjust your life to whatever is going on. So organized, LOVE IT! Love watching your videos and family fun.
Little women comes up in several homeschool lit curriculums but for 7th -9th grade! You may want to hold off on that one! What a great video! Thanks for sharing!
Anne of green gables is based out of Prince Edward Island where I’m from 😊 I worked at the historic anne house for a couple years and got to meet so many wonderful tourists!!
After she finishes reading The Secret Garden she would really enjoy the movie they made in the 90s. It’s sooo good. One of my favorite books and movies.
Anne of Green Gables has been a lifelong love since first seeing the Sullivan Entertainment version with Megan Fellows as a young girl growing up in Vermont. I have all three movies and when I need a mental health day.
You are so amazing. How often do you stock up on water and how much do you usually get? Can you possibly do some in store grocery shopping videos? It would be awesome if you could show how you do your full massive shopping trip
I'm excited to start back at homeschooling for the year but not looking forward to waking up early. Like you, I'm not a morning person. Anne of green gables is great. I'm going to do a little house on the prairie unit next year. But my kids are younger.
Sorry press the wrong button for some reason , Setting in the Dark right now watching and typing by screen light. What I was going to say next I only do YT, so will it be available on YT to get?
I hope you and Shaylee (sp?) enjoy "The Secret Garden". It is a long time favorite of mine. Actually, all of the ones you guys picked out are great IMHO.
My daughter starts 6th/Jr. High on August 18th! I’ve been getting back to school snacks and food for lunches too! She’s an early bird I’m not a morning person going to be harder for me to wake up earlier than her! I’ve been having her go to bed on time too and me too! Anne of green gables is such a good book! What fun folders! I’ll have to watch your video on some breakfast ideas! I should make some to have on hand!
What strength is your Apple cider vinegar gummies I was looking at them and wasn't sure what strength to get as there are many different ones and are they at good it's just nice to get someone else's opinion and by the way love your vlogs xx
Since you make a lot make ahead freezer meals, I am really interested to know how often do you cook and how you plan. Please if you can share that would be so helpful . I am having a baby soon and want to make some make ahead meals but don’t know where to start or anything at all. Hopefully you read and reply my comment. Thank you so much from Canada.
I don't know how old Shaylee is, but when I was in grade school, I would read "Baby-Sitters Club" books by Anne M. Martin. I collected them all. I used allowance money to buy them. Netflix did a one season series based on the books, Netflix did a good job.
Hii, I was wondering why your daughter does home school and the other kids don't or do they? The lapbooks remind me of something similar we did when we were in school. They were actually fun lol
We have a gluten free bakery in Baltimore City called Cafe 27! The cupcakes are delicious! We get them after my congenital heart clinic and for my birthday.
We homeschooled both our children K-12 . Absolutely, no regrets! They are both grown college graduates! Would not trade the special time together, however, it did go by so quickly! No offense intended to those who don't homeschool.
Loved coming along! I really enjoy seeing all the back to school videos at this time of year. It's a rainy day in our summer break here and we've enjoyed being at home and feeling a little autumnal. (Especially me! 😝👏🏻) I got a Shein order with some fun fall pieces and have sat and used a new 'wild spice' nail polish. Throwing in a slow cooker dinner for good measure. lol. 🍁🤗
Just love When you say 11:30 in the afternoon, we all know you mean the a.m. . It’s because you get up and start your day so early. When my youngest was at school he needed to be out of door by 8am ….so what time would you reckon we need to get out of bed by ??? Thanks so much,
Idk if it was just me.. but the sandwich rolls were no good! The package said best by July 29, 2021. Just giving you a heads up 😅😅 Other than that.. great video!! 🤗🤗
Oh, you just answered the question I asked on another video! I was so confused because you kept saying you were making gravy, but then I just saw spaghetti sauce (which you hadn't mentioned), and I never saw any gravy. Hahaha, that makes so much more sense now! Thanks for explaining.
Can’t believe it’s already back to school time! I have a question about your yummy looking gravy! Do the pork chops just sort of fall apart after all the cooking? So you have a little chunks of pork throughout?
Hi! I was wondering where you got the 3 sparkly folders and swirly folder from? I am homeschooling my 5 year old this year and she would love all of these! 😊 💜
You're a good mom! When your daughter is older she will look back and remember all of the little things you did for her. Your sons will too! When your parents are gone that's the time you remember everything they said to you and did for you while you were growing up. It really made me miss my parents today.
I am a public educator. I use the lapbooks as well. They are perfect to differentiate instruction. Take a look on teachers pay teachers as well. There are several free items and lots of quality lesson plans, activities, and units that may work for you. "The Borrowers" is another book she may enjoy.
I miss my homeschooling days. my kids are all grown now, still young but not in school anymore. I was intrigued by the supplements you mentioned so I ordered some . :)
I’m sharing a video this week on after school snaking, but sounds like they need a second lunch when they get home. Some of the kids have lunch at 11 am and they roll into the house close to 3pm.
