I would love a video about the birth talking about how it was so different than the others. So many people talk about how amazing birth is but no one talks about how tough it can be too

This happened to me- I had an unmedicated VBAC- and my ENTIRE face had broken capillaries, both my eyes had burst vessels, two black eyes. I was determined. It was crazy looking! And felt like I got hit by a train, I definitely wasn’t prepared for the recovery. But, her birth was beautiful, just as I imagined and totally redemptive. Our bodies are amazing, you are amazing mama!!! Congrats on your bundle of joy ❤

The roar you did while you were pushing Theo out, made me tear up and reminded me of my labor. Pushing was the hardest part for me as well, pushed for 2hrs😅somehow we do it and even choose to go through it again! Natural/unmedicated labors are so challenging, but really do make you feel like a badass👊🏼Congratulations warrior, fricken rockstar, you did it!

With both my pregnancies I was so violently sick, when I would vomit my face would strain so much I had broken/burst capillaries all the time…bloodshot eyes too, but not quite as red as yours Nicole. So I feel your pain! I think you were so exhausted after such a long labour, that weird things happened to your body when you pushed. You are amazing and so so strong!! 💪🏼 thank you for being vulnerable and show all the parts of pregnancy and childbirth; not just the pretty parts.

Nicole! You are such a WARRIOR for this labor and delivery. What happened to your face happened to me while I was pregnant. My morning sickness was terrible and every time I threw up the same thing would happen to my face. It goes away within a week or two but it does make you feel out of sorts. I pray that you recover fully and quickly. Keep up the great work, I love you!

I just had my first daughter last Sunday and I had a similar reaction to seeing myself - my family members didn’t even recognize me in photos because of all the swelling and broken blood vessels from 30 hours of back labor (24 of which was unmedicated until I was begging for the epidural) with 4 hours of pushing. Recovery has been so much tougher than I expected. Everyone keeps telling me that my labor was pretty challenging compared to most and that my next one will be easier but man… it will take a lot of prayer and leaning on the lord to enter into my next labor. Good job mama, I hope you’re healing well and able to soak in the newborn snuggles.

Hi Nicole I know it was probably hard to get in front of the camera with how you were feeling about your physical appearance. I love when you said, “I kind of feel like a warrior.” You shouldn’t FEEL like a warrior, you ARE a warrior! Child birth is not easy on us woman whatsoever, and i praise you so much for going unmedicated again. I’m glad you decided to film and share this reality with us. There are plenty of birth vlogs on this platform but not a lot reveal this side of reality when it comes to child birth. And it’s something new for everyone to learn! But you look beautiful and I’m glad you, Theo, and the rest of the fam are doing well. I also wanted to note the soft music in the background was the perfect touch to this video❤

You are a Warrior! W/Capital W! Thank you for sharing! We'd love a nore detailed birth vlog, to normalize hard labors especially when they're not the first. There's a misconception about births getting easier after 1st. When you get a chance, would you share a rough cut of a routine/balancing 3 kids? This is because there is a struggle and don't have any reference. Blessings to your family and your recovery🙏

I had the same experience with my first! Those spots all over my face (broken capillaries) from pushing so hard. It was because I had coached purple pushing. Thankfully with my second I focused on breathing through the pushes and did not have the same broken blood vessels!

I had a natural birth with my daughter, it was truly an awesome experience-BUT BOY I felt and looked like I got out of a serious boxing match. Swollen eyes I could barely see, popped blood vessels everywhere. Wouldn’t change it for the world, felt like I got ran over by a train-but what a miracle the whole thing was. I was beside myself with joy and also utterly wrecked, it’s just the reality of it!

Anyone who makes it through labor and delivery with no epidural my God your amazing I made it 6 centimeters and that was enough for me to call it quite I needed epidural immediately my contractions shot into my back and my God I felt like I had a broken back after I finally gave birth and went home I actually had to go back to the hospital because of my back pain it was very severe after birth it must have been the positions I sat in everytime I had a back contraction or I pulled a muscle while having contractions I don't know it was bad. But I give you props for going without any meds your amazing congrats on the new baby.

I definitely had that happen to my eye when I was pregnant. I didn’t get it from birth but from throwing up while pregnant. I spent my birthday with a bloody eye. It kind of got me down because everyone would stare at it or at least it felt like they were. Especially during the pandemic I’m like I’m not sick just pregnant. So that made it hard to accept it but also it would be so sore and it just didn’t have me feeling my best. I hope you start to feel better soon I recommend some cucumbers on the eyelids for some comfort. I had my partner go to the grocery store as soon as it opened because we ran out of cucumbers and that was the one thing that provided instant relief.

Hi! Praying you have you swift recovery! If this isn't too personal, one thing that I would be curious to hear about is why choose an unmedicated birth if it's so rough on the momma's body? I'm genuinely curious and trying to understand why some moms make that choice as opposed to getting an epidural and being able to have a more smooth delivery So it would be so helpful to hear from the perspective of someone who's done both I watched another mom's video and she also did unmedicated and because she wanted the baby out so badly cuz of the pain she pushed extremely hard and got a third degree tear So I'm wondering why not get an epidural and be able to be a bit more chill while pushing and have it be less brutal on your own body (less extreme tearing cuz you're not being as forceful and maybe no black eyes) I'm genuinely trying to understand what makes unmedicated worth it or do you still think it's worth it And again only if you're comfortable sharing this Thanks so much! Hope you're able to get lots of rest! ❤
@Nicolelelagreen
@Nicolelelagreen 11 месяцев назад
Hey! Thank you! Such a good question and I may end up explaining more in another video but what I can say for now in a quick comment is that I personally did NOT tear with both my unmedicated labors. Whereas I DID tear with the medicated one. I've heard this from many other mamas too and reason being is because with the epidural you're numb down there and can't feel your body as much to know when you should or shouldn't push, therefore end up tearing. My bloodshot eye and face was a result of pushing for a long time, because the baby was stuck in a strange position. It had nothing to do with it being unmedicated. In fact, I think if I had the epidural my face potentially could have been worse since I wouldn't have been able to feel when to push and then strained even more. I am able to feel much more in tune with my body and what I need to do when I'm unmedicated. Hopefully that sheds some light!

I noticed with my second child to my face changed right after delivery too. My face and neck broke out with petechiae, eyelids were swollen and heavy. It’s gone away now but i never experienced it with my first. Probably bc I also didn’t show up to the hospital 9cm dilated and have to give birth naturally lol

I just gave birth 3 days ago, I decided to go unmedicated, despite being induced. I found out while pushing that she was sunny side up, and pushing was honestly worse than the contractions after 24 units of Pitocin for hours. I was fine until yesterday, when my eyes felt like someone hit me in the face. Naturally I went looking for similar stories, because I thought I detached my retina.
