I have visited India many times and I can tell you that most people that approach you are OK however they will try to scam you out of money without harming you, unlike the UK where they mug you if they want money. Having said this, usually, if you keep your cool, and smile, they should leave you alone after about an hour. Oh and whatever you do, do not raise your voice or argue, they never work alone and you may get 20 men surrounding you + the locals.
Em beware of ANYONE that comes up to you with the promise of helping you out, they are only usually doing it to extort money out of you. I know that not everyone you meet will but you just need to be careful my Celtic friend. All the best from a Scottish 🏴 friend
