It's only the first full day in Kyoto... But I think you can easily guess how fast I fell for this city 🙈
In today's video: taking one of the first metros of the day to be one of the first visitors of Fushimi Inari ⛩️ experiencing the mysticism of this place, the quiet sounds of nature... It was wonderful! Going stationery shopping, visiting a cozy café, and enjoying a walk around Kyoto's city center... until the rain came 🌧️ The best part: starting my watercolor journal! More coming in the next vlogs ☺️

I will be posting every single day of the trip as daily (silent) vlogs - hope it will help you plan your own trip... or make you feel like you're traveling with me! ☺️

about me: 29-yo, born in France 🇫🇷 raised by Portuguese immigrants parents 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧🇵🇹 I never had the chance to travel when I was younger so, as soon as I managed to save up some money, I took off 🛫 At 19yo, I moved to live and study for a year in Athens, Greece 🇬🇷 At 22, I moved for an internship in Miami, USA 🇺🇸 before getting another opportunity to work and study in Montreal, Canada 🇨🇦 At 24, I did my last master degree semester as an exchanged student in São Paulo, Brazil 🇧🇷 Fell in love with the country, got a job, and been based in Rio de Janeiro ever since. After some personal health issues, I realized life is too short not to explore the world more… I’ve always loved documenting my days (journaling, scrapbooking) and knowing the next months would be full of travels, I thought, why not vlog it? I’m sure future-me will be very happy to look back at these videos! Hope you do too ☺️

Very relaxing nature ambience of Fushimi Inari. So, this is where the watercolor journal I have seen in the later videos started :)

Fascinating to see this side of Kyoto. The small stores and Machiya houses are so lovely. I love when you go inside a stationery store! I could spend a whole day in there! :D This was such a calm and interesting travel vlog! I am living vicariously through your videos! 🌻

🌻 Great vlog, such a vibe! I feel like I travelled with you. Even a bonus stationary ASMR at the end. What's you feedback on the pencil that never needs to be sharpened? Will we get watercolours vlogging someday? 👀
@storiesofmilo
@storiesofmilo 2 месяца назад
Thank you for watching and commenting!! ❤️☺️ My feedback on the pencil: it's alriggggght. It's a heavy pencil so it's not often my pencil of choice... The lead is a bit too thick for my taste! But otherwise, it keeps its promise... Never had to sharpen it, ever! 😅

Was it difficult to climb the stairs of Fushimi Inari in summer, even in the early morning? The sunset over the mountains in the evening is also very spectacular 😎.
@storiesofmilo
@storiesofmilo 6 месяцев назад
It was OK, because it was very early in the morning! And the vegetation around makes the place cooler! But still, it's always humid 🥵 Oooooh now I am adding "sunset at fushimi inari" on my list for my next trip!! ☺ Thank you! ❤

Loving your vlogs. I canr wait to go back to Japan end of April 🌸🏵 I was wondering about the water colour pencils, how do they work?
@storiesofmilo
@storiesofmilo 6 месяцев назад
Thank you for watching ❤️ As for the watercolor pencils, it's very simple: you color a little bit and then you go with your watercolor brush to "dissolve" the pigment... it's as if you were putting a bit of color on the paper to "watercolor it"! ☺️ It's pretty neat honestly!

Oh Milo it's been a rough week for me being sick but your vlog just instantly gave me some sense of peace, the whole section of Fushimi Inari was breathtaking, the nature sounds, having the trail basically all by yourself and allow yourself to fully immerse in what the experience is all about. Thank you for sharing another lovely vlog. Can't wait to experience this myself in autumn.
