hi friends! welcome to another korea vlog but this time, it's a vlog of my first day as a korean university student at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea! i had my first day at yonsei on september 1st and decided to vlog the day. i did a grwm in the morning, had a 9am class that was online and also an in-person class at the business building. i walked around campus a ton and also went to the coop store to get some school merch. the next day i had no classes, so i decided to go cafe hopping in mangwondong to do some school work and then to hongdae to do some shopping. i also included a dorm room tour (exciting!) and korea haul to the video, so I hope you enjoy!

Helloo!! I’m planning to go to Korea and study abroad after my senior year! I have a few questions if you don’t mind. 1. How much did it cost to study abroad? 2. Are you there in the fall, winter or is it yearly? 3. How did you apply to study abroad? 4. Did you learn basic Korean before going? 5. Did you meet your friends there or are they also in the program? 6. What did you major and minor in? Ps. You don’t have to answer I’m just curious as I plan on going possibly next year or the following year :) thanks! 😊🙏🏾

if ur a senior in hs, you cannot apply for ur first year in college. Yonsei only accepts sophomore standing students (ur credits dont matter, dont say ur technically a sophomore even tho ur a freshmen basically. u have to be a sophomore and 2nd year of college already)

the cost, application, and how long you stay is usually dependent on the university you go to now so it’s hard for me to answer! i met all my friends at yonsei (didn’t know anyone beforehand). im korean Canadian so I already knew how to speak korean and I’m majoring in business!

I have question.. I'm from Poland and want go to korea uni but not exchange program or something like that, I wanna go to normal program study like korean people, I can do something like this? (I started high school this year so I have 5 years for learn english, korean and get better grades in school)

its entirely possible but even if u study korean hard for 5 years theres no chance u will understand a korean taught university level class imo. so if u want to understand ur classes n not waste ur degree, pick a major that is taught entirely or partly (like 30-40%) in english lol e.g. business, international studies/relations, english literature, economics

Hi Ellie, probably you won't see this but I wanted to reach out and ask how your time at Yonsei University was. I am thinking about studying abroad at Yonsei University and was wondering how your experience was? As someone coming from the US is it easy to make friends in Korea, how are the classes, the environment etc. Is it good to know some Korean before you go? Thank You

it was actually super easy to make friends cuz all the exchange students are new and don’t really know anyone either! u can take classes meant for only exchange students (which i found easier) or some regular yonsei classes (taught in English or Korean). I would suggest learning some Korean before you go since it’ll just be easier to get around the country when you know the language but generally, a lot of younger ppl do speak English pretty well.
