It's so awesome to see how people in other courses study, in comparison to mine. It's crazy how courses differ from one another and the strategies needed for them (p.s. I'm a future history student). Keep your grind!
Top tip; if you're not sure about something go and ask your seniors instead of consulting google because every university is different. Mechanical Engineering is a very supportive community especially during the academic phase. You'd be surprised how far people will go to help you out. My seniors used to stay awake all night with me teaching me the course material even though they had their own exams and projects to take care of on top of that.
Great video. I’m a second year Aeronautical student at Southampton. Took a while to get back to normal after a year of online uni but it’s been great to finally see everyone
Your vlogs are really motivating I am literally watching this before I leave for school and today's day is gonna be so hectic and I really needed this vlog
lol, I was gonna ask if you could do a vid on how to build a routine but if you haven't got one there's no hope for the rest of us😅 but honestly if you have any idea how to plan out when to do lectures, seminar prep and stuff I would appreciate it SOOO much
Great video pal really enjoyed it. Saw some small cheeky maths! I get so buzzed and excited when I see maths as a maths tutor!! I love maths and very passionate about maths! Hope you’re having a good time and hope your studies go well for you this semester!!! Time is flying this year!!! Keep up these content. Gold dust!
And thanks man, appreciated!! Honestly I’d just recommend sitting down, writing everything you have to get done and tackling it one bit at a time. You don’t have to get it all done, but mentally you want to. Everything is progress so try to see it as a progression rather than getting one task closer to being done
Hi Jake, I sort of want to do the same a levels as you to do something like ur doing at uni e.g., mechanical or aerospace engineering. I want to get into a top uni like Oxbridge and would think that 4 A*’s in those subjects, plus an A* in EPQ would get you accepted, as you can’t get better. Is there a reason why you didn’t get into Oxbridge?
Your A levels are only 1 part of the application. There's loads of other things they consider such as personal statement, admissions test results and interviews.
Honestly grades and predicted grade is a joke, especially in this 2 years so no amount of grades would compensate a not so good admission test/interview
@@user-ub9zx5eh4q I’m only in Year 11, could you explain what that is. Is it a test on the subjects you do or a general test, and is it only for Oxbridge? Thanks.
@@ali.0121 I don’t think it is limited to Oxbridge, some universities will make you do an admissions test based on how much of a step up it is from a level etc. It seems a bit early to look at Oxbridge at y11 since not only do you need basically all 9s and a*s at a level, there are so many other factors that come into play as Jake has said in his videos countless times as they’re always looking for the best of the best.
Hey Jake, can you please show or talk a bit more about the content of the course like what exactly you guys are thought in lectures. I am trying to decide on whether to study mechanical engineering or automotive or go for a degree apprenticeship with JLR(Jaguar Land Rover). Btw are you studying mechanical or automotive and how come it's 5 year course? I guess you are doing masters in it.
Yoo this video is amazing. Love the comfy hoody, might cop. Im interested in joining bath next year and also interested in the Volleyball society :D The vibes seem so good. What accomodation you staying at?
Hey Jake mate, Great video, i’ve got uni next year and honestly can’t wait. In terms of taking notes and what not during lectures, would you say using an tablet and smart pencil or paper notes are better? Cheers
i might be a wrong but on a previous video you stated u were either gonna do mechanical or automative engineer what made u chose mechanical engineering
Maths, further maths, physics and chemistry. Recommend all of them but only do further maths if you are thinking of engineering and even then only if you really like maths ahahaha
@@two697 Yh, thats true, but how is he getting 4 A stars and another A star in EPQ. That's insane and the subjects he did were incredibly difficult as well.
@@nordenlashangderpalama8876 yh but it's still not necessary to revise that much. Ik a lot of people who revise loads and still get scrape b's and a's. It's how effectively you revise not how long your revise. Plus getting 4 a*'s is more common than you'd think (don't get me wrong it's still a very good achievement)
