Toyota is targeting 8% of total market. Or people who just want to act fiscally irresponsible😂.
It has cost 60k to get a well equipped rubicon for years. This is what happens when the government shuts down the economy and prints money for 3 years. It’s not political it’s simple economics. Increasing the supply of money without a commensurate increase in the size of the economy results in reduced value of the money ( inflation ). The published rates are lies. Look at the price of groceries or houses everything is up 20-50%. But wait gas isn’t up because we kept draining the strategic oil reserves.
Who cares at this price point? Im sorry, but cars and trucks are way overpriced. Its time for a market correction. And the people who claim that, it doesn't matter if you have money, are either lying trolls or part of the problem by paying mortgage ($900+) payments for a depreciating hunk of pre rusted tin and turbos.
@@ryansheard8092 I wanted to strike a balance between what was obviously too high for a car payment and low mortgage payments and juxtapose that against what some fools are paying. I've heard of $1600 payments for trucks.
@@bawintermage8351 I don't have a truck payment, but ok. It's easier to just pay for the thing outright than it is to finance. I think your anger is directed in the wrong places.
@mattbrew11 So the quality of your U.S assembled truck is better because of GDP? 😅🤣... 👍. Tacoma has been built in Mexico for over a decade....they also build the Hilux ...
With these prices Nissan would be stupid to not jump all over that 35k-45k segment. As of now if i was in the market for this sized truck that pro4x would looking really good. Luckily I got my TRD off road in 2020 for 34k and does everything I expect From it.
I am pretty sure the 4Runner TRD Pro and Trailhunter will be as pricey if not more. That price makes me consider a Land Cruiser 250 series as a serious option.
For $65k I'll definitely take a Land Cruiser. Best balance of off road, efficiency and comfort imo. I assume the 4Runner TRD Pro will be pushing $70k, and I'd definitely take the GX Overtrail at that price.
Sorry to say this Andre, but the TRD PRO and the Trailhunter are not a close or direct ZR2 BISON competitor. Maybe a base ZR2, and Ford Raptor Competitor. -No factory front locker. - 33s not 35s factory installed. -less lift/ground clearance/Aproach/departure ect..ect. Toyota as well as other manufacturers have priced these trucks out of the relm of what most people will ever pay for a midsized truck.
At my dealer (socal) we got a prototype tacoma come in for trouble codes. It wasnt anything serious, grille shutter, because we assumed it was from the offroading they were doing. It was thoroughly dirty and could tell they had taken it through some decent water. Truck was plenty muddy. They seem alright. Nothing to lose your mind over.
Where’s the 1700 lbs. of payload we were promised? My Maverick Tremor has more payload (1250 lbs.). Last week, at the Ford dealer, I saw a 2024 Ranger 4x4 with 1699 lbs. of payload. I like this video format. Thanks for all the great videos and keep up the good work.
@@kabloosh699 the TrailHunter is supposed to be the "overlander" which needs payload to carry all the over-priced camping junk. And the lower trims are still only around 1200 lb capacity. So the promised ratings were a marketing lie.
The Trailhunter trim is for Overlanding; says right on the Toyota website. Prices on the TRD-Pro & Trailer are 😱 What were the actual payload numbers on these vehicles? I know what the website says... The turbo noise in the raised air intake would get old really quick. Great info in this vid - thanks.
Will the off road have the hybrid option soon? I just don’t see a justification on getting the high level trims at this point when the extra money can go into some actual good custom mods.
TRD off roads and pros pricing is getting totally crazy. Give me a off road with just heated seats and a bed liner for 40k out the door and it'll be the number one selling truck on the market. They can keep all the other fancy controls/cameras/technology that is driving the price through the roof.
The TRD Pro didn't lift a wheel even once lol. Overtrail did pretty quick. The Pro articulation was excellent. I'd buy the Pro, if I were buying either
Can you guys talk about how the hybrid works. Can it be defeated? Is there certain drive settings that will defeat it like running in 4 wheel drive high or in Sport mode? Etc…
I really want to see a comparison of the new Ranger Raptor and the Maverick Tremor (since there is no Ranger Tremor) in the dunes. These 2 vehicles really share the same customer base, wanting a small Ford truck that is very offroad capable. Please, if you do this can you include the MSRP and come up with a cost-value comparison for them.
Great, informative video and I love what Toyota did to the Tacoma, HOWEVER the pricing makes it all laughable. It isn't even made in Japan at that price point. I would love one of the TH's and could easily afford one, but out of principal I will not indulge Toyota's ridiculousness.
I'm liking the TRD Pro, but I can't do that much red in the interior. I hope they have another option without the red seats. I deal with red accents, but too much makes my eyes hurt.
Do the ventilated seats on the Tacoma vent to the back and base of the seat, or just the base? I'm interested in the TRD-Off Road with premium package for the vented seats but no point in them if they only cool the base of the seat and not the back. Was really disappointed by the new Ridgeline Black edition that only had the vented seat base and not the back.
Pick up trucks used to be cheaper than Corollas but as soon as people turned them into lifestyle choices, the manufacturer started cashing in on peoples high emotion and being posers, and not actually using them as work trucks.
Guys, Could you make a video to compare Tacoma Off Road regular 4 turbo vs 4 turbo Hybrid and what makes a difference between both and if it is worth spending the extra money for a Hybrid. Thank you. My name is Marco from Idaho and I am a Tacoma enthusiast.
Remember the trans overheating in their Tacoma they bought? There was snow in the ground on a cold day and they were getting trans high temp warnings. The truck doesn’t cool properly when driving slow in 4 HI I suspect.
Lol. You're nuts. Raptor is way better for performance and price, ZR2 is best value by far. TRD Pro is better at nothing but MPG and presumptive reliability (has not been out long enough to actually say it's reliable).
Would have been interesting to get a comparison on how the suspensions feel in relation to one another. I think my take away is you really dont notice A GIANT difference between a TrdOR and these two? I guarantee at 60mph on a washboard road the Pro would be night and day but off roading like the typical person, not so much??? Maybe I missed it in the vid... 🤷♂️.. And yes I agree with everyone...crazy money but we sure do have a ton of orders on the Trail Hunter. Maybe once folks see the price???
Local dealership has a ‘24 TRD Sport 4x4 with a window sticker price of 56k I could only guess with a few trim levels in between the PRO will be in the mid 70s, way too much money for a midsize pickup truck.
Would LOVE to see a video of blueberry vs the Off-Road Hybrid with premium package. Plus I'm struggling to make a purchasing decision between those two so it'd help 😅
Both trucks look great (IMO), but I think the Pro would look even better if all exterior trim panels and fender flares were flat / matte black instead of the gloss. It seems like an odd mix.
I think the delayed transission into and out of 4 low is a breakin thing. When my 2nd was new I had a hard time with this but at some point it became instataneous. Thanks Toyota for keeping the 6 ft bed option!
The seats on the TRD Pro look annoying. I'm short but I would still like extra space for guests in the back and that looked uncomfortable. I am not a big fan of Toyota but I agree if I had to choose it would be the Trailhunter trim for either Tacoma or 4Runner
For the price I’ll pass because my 04 double cab TRD-off road is still capable of going through those same trails easily, especially with my aftermarket suspension parts I added.
I don't feel good about the price of the 4Runner trd pro. Lol. I was ready to trade in my 17 ltd for the new 4runner trd pro. But now I guess I should keep it and mod the shit outta it.
We want more space from our midsize! We want to adjust shocks with a computer! We want it to cost $30k!!! lol crazy. The prices are high because of the demands and what’s on the trucks. If you want a mid 30s midsize buy the base or Nissan.
I was watching a 7 year old truck video this morning… top comment was people complaining about the price. I’m sure the same would be for 20 years ago. Brand new top of the line trucks are not for the average pleb… buy used and stop clogging RU-vid comments with complaints about price.
The best option for these top of the line Tacoma’s is to wait til people can’t afford the monthly payments and sell them used with low miles. Brand new; CRAZY HIGH $$! 😳
Trailhunter will complete with the AT4X and ZR2. I really like the 6ft bed. The TRD is no longer a option with the ranger raptor coming in at a lower price point. Heard ford it to increase production so they are not as much a novel vehicle but a actual competitor
Trail hunter payload is 300lbs short. Also, they keep saying Trailhunter goes further, but it has the same pathetic 18gallon tank. Should be 23 gallons to go 100 miles further.
I wish they had non hybrid options for these two trims. The price is too high anyway. I have also learned from my last TRD Pro. Never buy a vehicle with modern Fox suspension unless you have the cash to replace them with something reliable.
Those are cool trucks, but when will it be too much? After taxes, that TRD Pro taco will be over $70K. That is just too much for me. Maybe for a full size truck. Maybe.
Yeah, what i could get used for $50-55k would blow this away.. Power wagon, 392 Rubicon, f-250 tremor, etc. And the money i save would pay for the fuel.
Why do the ARB rear bumpers dip so low in the middle you’d think they would want it more level for when you’re going up a steep hill so it doesn’t drag . The price of the TRD pro is ridiculous but either way I’d buy the trail hunter over the TRD all day long it just is way more practical in my opinion.
Unfortunately the 4WD engaging “problems” you have are user error. Toyota uses “shift on the fly” part-time 4WD. The vehicle must be moving to engage 4WD high as quickly as you would like. The faster you are going (in a straight line)the better (up to 62mph). The 4WD low is slower, but slightly.
Hopefully Toyota will bring TRD OFF options to the Limited Tundra/ 4runner and Platnium 4runner. The one photo Toyota has released or the Platnium 4runner suggests this will be an option.
Platinum 4Runner will be the same as a Limited 4Runner but with a blackout package. No TRD Off-road bits on either the Limited or Platinum trims of the 4Runner.
@leeraymer166 it took 2 years for the TRD Off Road options to come to the Limited/Platnium/Capstone in the z Tundra... you can bet it is coming for Tacoma and 4runner.
@@NorthweSteelheadJunkies Absolutely. It’s just that right now Toyota isn’t yet offering that option but you can bet if there’s demand that they will. Great point.
Carguyonline said it best: The prices we are paying for cars and houses in this country are now beyond out-of-control. Why do we tolerate? Are we a population of serfs?
This video single handedly made me decide to not purchase either truck. The cost never matters to me, if I want something and its of value to me then I will get it but the added weight for the battery, dependance on a turbo and those sill room taking seats are not of interest. The most interesting thing about the trailhunter in this video was how the "Snorkel" sounds. Going to search for low mileage, good condition 2023 or earlier.
