Had one like it, same color, dual tank. Pulled mine out of a salvage yard, it took about a year, it was that color originally and stayed that color but Imron paint. Came with a Warn winch and lockers for the front hubs. Never got stuck and I tried. It's first oil change was Fairbanks Alaska, floor boards were pretty bad at the start, wheel wise 15" steel spoke, 31 inch mudders, headers and a Holly 2 bbl carb, a Webber 38IDA might have been better. Enjoy that fine specimen. My son was about 8 when I finished mine, went thru most of Boy Scouts with it.
@@couse44 Mine was actually in Kansas outside a military base, probably driven here by someone in the Army. Labors of love that will reward you for ever. Have you heard Yota is planning on remaking FJ40 parts again, I guess Specter Off Road is running out, if their still in business.
It was awesome to meet you today. What a beautiful 40 series you have. I'm sure lots of work went into making it as nice as it is, definitely something to be proud of.
Looks great - could be after you put a few hundred miles on it, whatever gunk that is in the carb, may wash itself free and it may run better w/o a carb rebuild. Change the fuel filter if you haven't already. I think all the FJ's squeak... it is part of their personality!
