Loved this video and your enthusiasm for this car. I have a 2005 E61 , 123,000, 530D and it’s superb. What a drive. Such comfort inside. I also have an E39 touring which is brilliant as well and I keep switching about which I like best! The E39 is already a modern day classic , but I reckon the E61 will soon follow it.
I have this same model car bought it band new back in 09 but with a 3 litre diesel, forgot the pan roof I opted for adaptive Cruise control an absolute gem use it all the time. Service not going to lie bmw take care of it and I still have extended warranty drive line they call it. It’s not ulez compliant am I selling it NO just love it to much
Thank you for this video! Just bought same model, same engine - E61 520d LCI 2008 - with similar mileage - also looks like it was mostly motorway driven- 3 previous owners - I am a bit nervous hearing all the BMW horror stories about the cost maintenance but for now I just cant wait to take it for a proper spin. :D
Maybe it's me but i prefer the model before i think it's better made. The problem with everything now as has been for years, it's accountants NOT designer's and engineers that run companies/ manufacturing.
@Jamie_FYD Thanks for sharing the love. My e61 M5 was stolen last year and I'm not over it. Too many haters out there and BMW are great if they've been loved and serviced every 10,000miles
I've just bought a 128k mile BMW 330e hybrid 2018. Full BMW service history. I'd never be able to afford a low mileage example. But no one has to know.
Love the video. I have just bought a 2006 196000 mile e61 330d. Great car.... BUT... My Rover 75 ZTT diesel is a better car. Hands down. Sorry, but true in my opinion
I just bought a 2009 E61 320d Touring for £2500. Absolutely love it, especially when I nearly bought a DS3! Wasn’t expecting to end up with a little (big) gem of a car when I sold my XKR to downgrade.
I have a 2006 E61 530Xi, about 90k miles. I adore it. There is an interesting story in BMW with these particular models (E60/61). Considered among their best designs. They look modern even today...and the touring model is getting hard to find. According to BMW CCA my E61 is worth today what I paid for it 12 years ago. Here in the US, everything is noe some type of SUV. Hard to find a proper European Sport Wagon. The E61 is top of that list IMO.
The M57 (3 litre diesel) is dead nuts reliable, if you want a reliable car go for a LCI (facelift) car as they're just overall better in pretty much every way
