A top gear host that is completely original in his commentary and his style whilst being very knowledgeable AND he knows his facts and isn’t rambling on about nothing?
JB is one of the best combo journalists in the business. Driving ability and eloquence matter to me when it comes to high performance vehicles. Harris, Bovingdon, Sutcliffe and Catchpole truly encapsulate that for me amongst others.
Hang on a minute I know that Solus!! I’ve seen Jordan, Jason and Daves Solus many times before. On frickin Top Gear, Let’s Go Boys!! Bet you guys are buzzin!! I’m well happy for you.
I know it was all insured blah blah but a huge thank you to the owner(s) of these cars. I've been to COTA on a few track days and you are cooking around this circuit in these cars.
Still remember reading your reviews when I was like 12-14 years old on magazines lol, so glad seeing you again on these reviews so many years later Jethro fricking Bovingdon !
@@gcarlson Hey, The original 6 litre zonda had the Mercedes M120. It was just the standard s600 block with a dry sump. AMG only got involved when the engine was bored out to 7L. My engine is the 6L M120 which is getting hard to come by. The AMG version is super rare. I belive that only came in the Japanese s600 with upgraded cams for 30+ hp. I would love to eventually get some cams made for mine tho and get a stroker crank made to increase the capacity and power. For now I will be running all the stock ecus for reliability and to speed up the build. The chassis is part tube frame and part carbon tub 🙂 full carbon body. It's a one off car that I have designed. Initially I will be using the stock suspension to get the build registered for the road. I can easily change it later or upgrade to a pushrod setup. The factory s600 suspension is setup the same as the ferrari 458, double wishbone on the front, multi-link rear. I have the first episode up on my channel explaining the design in more detail. Thanks for your support 😎👍
This car is also a good opportunity for Judd to showcase what they are known for to a wider audience. They are probably the only ones building high-rev V10 engines now.
Wow…that is amazing. I remember when Judd made F1 engines back in the 70’s and 80’s. How about a race series with this beast and Aston’s Valkyrie? Little power advantage for the Aston though
What a machine - that engine is incredible! No more comparisons to F1 please. This is a LMP1 / hypercar. Take it to the best racing series with all the big manufacturers now involved - FIA WEC. Would love to see this thing racing at Le Man's.
Great video I was an HPDE event there in my CT4 V Blackwing and it's an amazing track, it's alot more technical then it looks. I wonder what type of speed your were getting to on the back straight I was at 135 so those cars must be 160 170?
Felt like quite a bit of short shifting there which I fully appreciate given the cars cost. Would love to see this at full tilt. Get some footage of an f1 driver in this please
McMurtry is irrelevant itself. Google how long it can run on a single charge in full attack mode. It can’t do a full lap on some longer tracks lol currently, it’s just an experiment, it even can’t be named a real track car
The car sounds muscular from the inside and screams with high pitch sound from outside. What a machine tho and from the outside it sounds better than LFA
I’m not sure how good of a driver he is, but on the dash it said his best lap was at one point, a 2:04.5, which is crazy when you think he won’t be pushing it to it’s max, and isn’t a professional racing driver
So both the McLaren Solas GT and the Red Bull RB17 have hybrid NA V10s, but the McLaren is a 5.2L while the Red Bull is a 4.5L, but with a 332 HP difference, the McLaren only produces 858 HP, while the Red Bull produces 1,200 HP
I get that it's beautiful, but it's like a budget cobble-together of the Valkyrie. Using design lifted from the AMR, with a bought-to-match catalogue V10. What's bespoke about it? It's like "oh, yeah we could do that too" - insert "we have a F1-for-the-road car at home" meme.
I don't understand, why Mclaren doesn't just use this car as a Le Mans Hypercar. The interest to enter is there and they already have the perfect platform...
I've been using this car (Essentially) in Gran Turismo 7, for the 800pp Events, for over a year. The central seating and futuristic interior is stunning in VR! Absolutely incredible to see the real thing come to fruition. Stunning car, and one of the better VGT (Vision Gran Turismo) cars in the game.
