Is the Volkswagen Vento 1.2 TSI a viable alternative to the Honda City and Toyota Vios? We review the turbocharged B-segment sedan here. Written review here: paul.my/Driven...
...I've been using it since April 2017...Full Tank can go up to 700km for long drive...good handling...feels solid on corners...driving at the speed of 170km/h, car feels solid & stable...so far DSG(7 years warranty) & 1.2 TSI is working perfectly...and I always follow the advice of VW sc mechanics on how to maintain the car...I didn't disturb the electronics nor the wires as the car is equipped with driving data computer...I owned it because I don't like to use a car which has too many sensors nor electronics that would give battery issues in future...I love using old school cars...so the design fits my appetite...service is every 15000km...& I have no complaints.
Those who own this car have a better smile on their faces than those who own City, Vios and other vacuum cleaner brands. This is a real car that can make your adrenalin flow. Not like those Electrolux wannabe Japanese cars.
Hahah.. I seriously have to agree with you. I think he is too desperately trying to speak like and white person. Anyway i driving vento. Its not as bad as what he says. I have no complaints on the car. Excellent car.
It's turbocharged... The other two (Vios and City) are not. Especially Vios which is tuned for fuel efficiency. The Civic 2.0 is a much, much heavier vehicle. And again, not turbocharged. This is like running 100m race against kids and heavy people and bragging about winning it.
Robotized manual? That sounds like something from an old aston martin. Well all dcts use a manual architecture tho. However, not doubting this is a low end box so you can’t expect it to be as good as an audi’s dct
Sorry VW Malaysia, unless you guys are able to provide 7 years full factory warranty and 5 years free service, or change the GB to normal aisin automatic 6 speed or 8 speed, your sales are gonna continue to drop. VW Top Management should come out and listen to owner feedback, not just sit in office and shiok sendiri said all DSG problem has been solved. Just look at BN, shiok sendiri and now, they fall. Same theory for any business. Please listen to PUBLIC AND OWNER FEEDBACK.
Couldn't agree with you, the engine note is too noisy, and it's not a nice noise to hear. Although you say it hits max torque at 1,500 rpm, but in actual driving condition, i still can feel the turbo lag, gear changing is slow, if you compare to Jetta. for RM94k, i still prefer Japanese B-segment car.
Dude you're comparing jetta with vento and complaining that vento is lacking in some aspects. You really expect it to be on par with jetta with 94k?jetta is morr than 110k dude Compare a car with the same value as vento, tbh vento is better than all other b segment cars below 100k
to Chee Siang Wong opinion. =) Drove city and vios before. can't beat confident level and smoothness in driving vento. try using the sport mode, blown my mind. for below 100k, totally worth it.
Great car. But i dont like the gearbox. Not suitable for a leisure driver. Always shifting early to highest gear unless u drove it with aggresive throttle..
Same like my 2016 Myvi 1.5. I've no idea why it rushes to the higher gear. When press the throttle harder, engine roars seconds later only power comes at the 2nd gear.
Dunno why im every time im look this reviewer is too stiff, looks garang and stress no feeling on every sense of driving but the script is very good..im prefer hafriz and mathew
Just make it 10% bigger and sell it in india everyone will buy it instead of honda city which now has better space. Indians want more space and more mileage.
Looks like a 90's car. But at least it can keep u save way better than vios and city. City can be better than vios. But still, vw put its money in safety and technology. Not in design and accessories.
Kalithas Thashwin Malaysia is small compared to India, I suggest people to ditch crappy suvs, stretched out crappy saloons, sedans, buy sub compact sedans save ourselves and earth.... from pollution. But that a nice car interiors so dated..
